  1. i have managed to pick up german radio a couple of times, i think its usually a combination of poor shielding somewhere in the system, and high gain devices like fuzz pedals can help contribute part of it depends on the atmospheric conditions too, as the weather can affect how well the radio waves travel, so in certain conditions you can get signals from pretty far away somehow the few times i have managed it at home i have always seemed to pick up german talk radio... if the signal was digital, your amp wouldnt be able to convert it back into speech, normal radio (am at least, cant say for sure about fm) can get picked up and amplified via guitar amps, so it would have to be from an analouge transmitter somewhere David
  2. cool, they dont sound too hard to find what sort of stuff do they have in stock? someone mentioned MXR which sounds excellent, any other decent effects or guitars/amps they would have in (that we dont have in aberdeen) i will have to drive down for a look sometime soon David
  3. cool, i didnt think there was anything in stonehaven, i will have to drive down someday to have a looky, whereabouts in stonehaven are they? David
  4. does anyone know of any semi decent places apart from the usuall rnb/bruce millers/prosound? not necessarily in aberdeen, but preferably close enough? the places here are pretty good, but i was just wandering if there is anywhere else that may have some new guitars/pedals and the like... David
  5. in what way to you find them different? i have a GCB-95 crybaby and dont really like it, and i am wandering if it is just me not liking wah pedals or me not liking that wah in particular. i was playing with a dime wah and it was excellent, as you can set it to work for rhythmy riffs and powerchord type stuff, without being completely overbearing and crappy like teh crybaby i have is, just wandering if there were any pedals out there that would suit what i want better stock, or if i would need to spend a bit more on something liek the dime i can setup as i like David
  6. the george lynch tmb? or the older version? tell us how it sounds, they look like awesome pedals David
  7. i still have the pm i got with teh results from that David
  8. they averaged out the curve of a large amount of bananas to get a curve radius that would fit almost every banana nullmouse, they were mentioned in the magazine mbuk ages ago (where i heard of them) useful if you like eating bananas, but dont enjoy them quite so much after they have been squished in your bag all afternoon... personally i hate bananas, apples all the way... David
  9. excellent, i might finally get to see you guys again... David
  10. it was all a bit too far fetched to happen in real life, especially a 'murdurer' posting afterwards and bragging about it... David
  11. alex, for the feedback looper, it would be a really cool idea if you had a footswitch to choose between feedback loop or true bypass loop, so you can use the pedals normally as well as in the fb loop for crazyness not sure how it would work with your active circuitry (since i dont know what the schematics like) but on a passive fb loop its just a case of using a spst switch to cut the connection between the send and return jacks to let it function as just a loop David
  12. i got my fuzz factory for 124... there is a slightly newer version of it now' date=' exactly the same as the normal one, but the enclosure is silk screened instead of handpainted, so it looks different but sounds exactly the same, and quite a bit cheaper, i got mine from [url']www.soundsgreatmusic.com awesome pedal David
  13. for the feedback looper, would doing it with all your extra buffers and mv really be that much use over a normal passive one? tav, a feedback looper basically takes some of the output of a pedal, and feeds it back into the input, so you can get self oscillation from distortion pedals and some funny effects from some other types it is really easy to build a simple one, i could find a schematic if you want i really need to get all teh parts for the fuzz i want to make, basically a really simple basic fuzz (the bazz fuss to be exact) but with switches to choose between different transistors and clipping diodes to completely change the character of it, and i am thinking abotu switchable input/output caps for use with bass too i need to get my hands on loads of diodes and whatnot and breadboard it to see what is actually useful in a fuzz, so i can have a few different settings that should all be useful mostly i am making it as an excuse to use these on a pedal David
  14. i saw about twenty seconds of it, with the homeboy dude walking in and looking like a right twat, and then the kamal guy, who instantly pissed me off hoorah for reality tv David
  15. David

    pedals for sale

which phaser is it exactly? David
  16. i cant really think of anything, anything more permanent than sticky tape like glue would probably affect the vibrations of the cone and change the sound a bit do it lemmy style, stab it with a pencil a couple more times for the rock n roll David
  17. forget all this humbucker nonsence... nothing less than eight coils will do for real rock and roll David
  18. i bought myself a bass today, namely a Fender Jazz bass (the mim standard) cue the bassist jokes David
  19. please remember to take the cellophane of the pickguard when you get it, unlike whoever took that photo... David
  20. for the bridge' date=' it would be easier just blocking it off, i know there is the button on the bridge to block it one direction, and you could always block it the other way too if you felt the need (a bit more involved, but pretty easy to do) if you still have the standard jag bridge, ou can replace the tuneomatic type part (with the saddles) with a mustang one, which is a direct replacement, and works better (there are proper grooves for the strings and whatnot) rewiring a guitar is fairly easy as long as you know how to solder rewiring wouldnt really get rid of buzz though, switching the singlecoils for humbuckers would help a lot, as would making sure all the electronics are sheilded properly as for humbuckers, that would be the hardest part to do, you would need toget a new pickguard or cut the one you have to get them to fit and mount properly to it and you will also probably need to route inside the guitar to get enough space to fit them so that job would be best left to a pro have you looked at the singlecoils sized humbuckers? they would drop right in without any need for work on the body. check out the pickups at [url']www.seymourduncan.com (under the strat section) the jb junior and lil 59 are both single sized humbuckers, and there are a couple others that might interest you like the vintage rails or duckbuckers which are voiced like singlecoils, but with no hum. using something like these would definately be a lot easier, and you can always stick back in the origonal pickups if you want and not be left with permanent mods to the guitar, check the sd site for a bit more about all the different pickups as for costs, i have no idea, best bet is to work out exactly what you need done, then get in touch with neil at prosound (or whoever you will take it to) and ask him for a rough quote David
  21. nice legs, when do they open? I am new to town, could you show me the way to your bedroom? I've lost my phone number, could i have yours? David
  22. i thought of guitar... he somehow got to bass guitar, but that does include me being pedantic with some of the answers 'is it made of synthetic materials' - sometimes, which is being rather pedantic, as 99% of guitars are just wood he then found his way to banjo, and i gave up David
