I always thought the purpose of a gen chat area on a forum was to keep this "banter" out of the main area, whatever it may be. The fact that the forums which are supposedly the main focus of the site are quieter than the general discussion forums is a different issue than that of the content of the general discussion. edit - referring to capt. amercia's idea at the start there.

Yeah the ban was for what Adam posted. That was an offence seen and punished by the ref at the time so a little different than the stamp last night. I feel a bit sorry for Casillas. He's a fantastic goalkeeper and all signs are that he's a great guy too. I've never heard a Barca fan say a bad word about him. Actually I may be wrong about that. Just looking at the Madrid supporting papers, they are much more critical of him than I expected. I kind of thought they'd go with the "accidental" defence. It may be partly to avoid talking so much about the defeat but the main stories on the Marca website are about Pepe, calling his behavior shameful etc. And a public vote has over 95% of people saying he should be punished retrospectively. It seems Madrid fans (and the marca suggests madrid players too) are getting fed up with him doing things like this. So if both sides are more or less agreeing on this it is quite possible some punishment will be given to him.

I'd be surprised if anything happens to him to be honest. They're more likely to ignore everything and hope the issue goes away.

From the second half I didn't think it was that bad either. I wouldn't though with the result. It was nowhere near as bad as that champions league game last season which is the only one which I found genuinely embarrassing and couldn't enjoy. Preece was a good guy. Coincidentally 12-18 was roughly my main phase as a season ticket holder too. Don't think I'll ever enjoy supporting the dons as much as I did back then, even though we were at the bottom of the league mostly. I'm not normally very nostalgic for my youth and teenage years due to being an adult is just fucking better. However the dons is one thing that can bring it out in me.

Kirsten, I normally like your input around here but I'd rather read a book of JakeBassist poo chat than see one more list with the albums listed before the artist. It just is not right. (ftr since it seems to be a hot topic I haven't noticed Jake make any bowel related posts in the last week) As for favourite records of all time, it's something I used to enjoy talking about but find much harder nowadays. I always tended to go for albums which have been long time favourites, those I was assured I would never tire of and could go back to time and time again while at thinking they had some extra quality over others I may listen to a lot. However after most of my life listening to primarily indie and rock albums the last couple of years have seen a bulk of my listening taken up by Pop, Techno and Hip Hop. So after exploring these genres I've found many albums which I rate as great albums but haven't had the lengthy attachment to in the same way as some others. It all makes it a bit hard to compare and rank them. Anyway I'm rambling somewhat. Here are some albums which are long established favourites and will likely always be near a top of any list I'm forced to make. And here are a few which have charmed me greatly in recent times and may or may not go on to reach the status of those above in my mind.

I finally finished Murukami's After Dark which I strangely left waiting for a long time. It really just didn't grab me as his work usually does. Picked up a bit by the end. After the earlier chat I started re-reading Mother Night. Whizzing through it.
