  1. I heard the new ab-soul was decent, is it?
  2. So what good albums are there from this year? Either it's been a crappy year for hip hop or I've just no been paying attention, or possibly a mix of both. Freddie Gibbs is really the only one that stands out for me. I've been on a big binge of my favourite hip hop albums this week. Does any track on Illmatic ever get old? I'd also forgotten how much I love Supreme Clientele.
  3. 64 First time I played that was like I had been transported into the future.
  4. ISS and ISS Deluxe on the SNES, ISS 64, ISS 98 and ISS 2000 on the N64 were the only games that mattered in the mid to late 90s.
  5. So I assume that means Azpilicueta will go back to the right. I hope this doesn't mean we don't get as much of big bran.
  6. Wanted to see this Juve side give the champions league a good go, should have happened last season.
  7. Playing FIFA games in the 90s Why didn't you have ISS?
  8. You are not prepared for this. http://youtu.be/S9mUNFQyT04
  9. I do not consider the 2002 Brazil team as a classic. Just a classic front line really. I think the team was better (final excepted) in '98.
  10. I imagine most people will have really fond of their first couple of world cups, whichever they are. I agree that is a shame that the world cup has lost the element of the unknown it used to have. I got that experience somewhat in 94, due to not knowing much about football outside of the UK before then. Hagi, Stoichkov, Baggio and Romario were all unknowns.
  11. I just wish Switzerland hadn't beaten them in the first match. I think that led to everyone else trying to follow their example as the best way to defeat them which led to very tight matches. I basically became a huge football fan during 94. I'm not sure I even cared that much when it started but by the end Baggio not winning was the worst thing that had ever happened to me.
  12. I feel like other people have recommended Hootenanny to me before so I'll make that the top of the list to listen to next.
  13. Oh definitely. Also i think that a lot more than just the football affects how much someone enjoys a tournament. In 2006 I took holidays and swapped shifts so I wasn't working during a single match. I also watched the first few days of it when on one of the most enjoyable holidays of my life. Then it was won by an Italian side full of players I loved. So I have a lot of positive memories around the tournament in general. Whereas in 2002 I remember the time zones being shit for when I was working and a lot of my favourite teams under performing and going out early, so it's my least favourite. 2010 gave me the experience of being in the country of the winners for the whole tournament, which might not happen again.
  14. I think I'd put Tim just ahead. However if we were to split the albums into halves, the back half of Let It Be would come out on top.
  15. OR Which do you like best? Also I've only heard these two, for some reason I've not listened to the others. Does that make me an idiot?
  16. 2006 group stages were incredible. All the media was calling it the best world cup ever a couple of weeks into that tournament as well. There was a fall off in entertainment in the knock out rounds but not enough to make the whole competition be considered poor. Plus it had the greatest world cup match of my (memorable) life time. But Korean girl.
  17. I really hope Lallana doesn't get adversely affected by people going on about his price tag all the time.
  18. A very good world cup. Sometimes it feels like everything has to be labelled the best or the worst these days. Brilliant or terrible. This is definitely in the good side of world cups but I don't see how it was clearly better than 94, 98 or 06. I think it is just a reaction to 2010, which while poor was not as bad as some like to make out. It was a good final though, at least the first half was excellent. Argentina have every right to feel very disappointed and unlucky not to win that match but there can be no arguing about Germany being the best team in the tournament. It would have been interesting to see how the game would have gone if there had been the red cards there should have been. My favourite goals of the tournament are Van Persie, Cahill, both Rodriguez goals vs Uruaguay, Messi's goals against Bosnia and Iran (both would have got so much more praise if anyone else scored them), the fourth Algeria goal against South Korea and Germany's fourth fifth and seventh goals against Brazil. The best though has to be the James chest and volley. Favourite match was Germany - Algeria, exhilarating and gripping. Algeria basically gave the football performance equivalent of Rocky against Apollo Creed in the first film. Messi getting the golden ball is fair enough to me. He's one of a few stand out players, but there was no one person who really elevated themselves above the rest. He was in the final so they gave it to him. He's getting held to a ridiculous standard at the moment, albeit a standard he set. He was a fantastic player in the this tournament, again if anyone else played like he did they would be getting praise from all sides. Absolute highlight of the world cup:
  19. Yeah I realise the way I worded it makes it sound like I was slagging off Rice too. That wasn't the intention. I quite liked his debut album when it came out.
