  1. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/worldcup/algeria-to-donate-9m-world-cup-prize-money-to-people-of-gaza-because-they-need-it-more-than-us-9581338.html The countries whose players got all in a strop over their money certainly look bad in comparison to this.
  2. Is this as big of a surprise to everyone else as it is to me? I thought he was set to stay one more year at the very least. However, Sporting Lisbon is certainly an interesting move. Hopefully he will be looked after because moving abroad at that age can be difficult. I think Portugal might be a sensible destination though. Those top clubs have a good track record of signing young foreign players and developing them into top players who can later move onto bigger clubs. It could prove a good bridge between Scotland and a chance in one of the top five leagues. Better than moving to a championship side.
  3. France were good in the first two matches but you have to take into account the shambolic performance of Switzerland in their second match. Nigeria were unluckly against them. Who are the two teams Netherlands beat which held Brazil? They beat a weakened couldn't give a fuck Chile who then later held Brazil in a game that mattered. Lucky as fuck to beat Mexico. the only team that have impressed in every match is Colombia but they haven't had the hardest fixtures. It's wide open. Belgium have been mostly disappointing.
  4. I have been watching A LOT of the simpsons lately. www.wtso.cc is a fantastic site.
  5. Have France, Holland or Germany looked any more likely? And don't forger the FIX FACTOR with Brazil.
  6. Expected more from you. this is Andy Townsend "it's a lottery" level. It's not anyone's game, almost always the best technical, least fatigued and most mentally and physically strong side will win the shootout. It's all about skill and mental strength. I enjoyed that game. Argentina still haven't clicked though. Messi has been good but too many others are off their game and the team isn't working as a whole.
  7. Lallana is an absolute class act. Better technique than any other English player. Should have started all the England matches. I fancy him. Back on the pundits, the bbc lot just seem to be so fucking miserable. They hate football. Worse, they want football to be bad. I know I'm in the wrong thread but the Argentina - Switzerland match wasn't bad yet they all described it as worse than the holocaust. Yes if every game was like the the world cup would be a little dull but these football experts should be able to appreciate a well organised side and good technical players searching gaps.
  8. Hey moon moon you're fired!
  9. To be fair Itv's line up last night of Strachan, Hoddle and Dixon is about as good as they get on that channel. Way better than the beeb's offering yesterday.
  10. Thanks for that Graham!! I'm aware the weather won't always be to my liking, I'm more worried about the cold in winter. I think the short and relatively mild winters here might have made me a bit soft! I have heard that Kimchi is eaten almost all the time, I'll be very nervous eating it for the first time. Life will be a lot easier if I like it.
  11. Yesterday did nothing to make me think a European side will win this thing.
  12. They have been fighting for single ball. They are my new favourite team.
  13. The Muller falling over free kick routine Sometimes it has felt as if Neuer's starting position is outside the box. That last counter attack he cleared up was ridiculous.
  14. This has been one of the best 0-0s I've seen in a long time.
  15. Germany have been more on top in this second half but an Algeria counter attack goal still looks possible.
  16. Chiles is awful. It might just be that I hadn't seen him in a while before this world cup but he seems worse than ever now. Sadly you do have to say he is 100% correct and probably almost all football fans are guilty of it to a certain extent.
  17. Hoddle calls Algeria Al-jazeera. LOL. https://vine.co/v/MFUOqt00YTz
  18. What are people's thoughts on what Strachan says here?
  19. Actually screw what I said about wanting Germany to win. Algeria have been great so far and you're right them playing France would be amazing.
  20. Thanks. As far as I understand there's been a big push in Korea for people to learn English and to attract native speaking teachers so jobs offer good pay and benefits. Even an inexperienced teacher could get a job offer which includes paid for flights and accommodation provided / paid for on top of a salary which will allow you to save easily. I chose Daegu for a couple of reasons. One, I'm a bit daunted by the idea of living in a city the size of seoul. It's massive and much bigger than anywhere I've lived. Also I think in Seoul it would be easier to drift in just living among other ex-pats and not learning much Korean. Plus some specific things about the job like working hours were better for me in the Deagu job. it wasn't hard decision really. I imagine I will visit Seoul and other places while there and if I fancy moving after I've been there for a while I can.
  21. I quite like that Algerian anthem. I hadn't really noticed it before. I hope they play well tonight but when it gets to this stage I kind of want the big guns to progress.
  22. Both teaching Jobs in Korea, one is Seoul and one in Daegu. I accepted the one in Daegu and will be moving there and starting September 1st (assuming there are no delays with my visa). And by Korea I'm obviously talking about the eastern province in Poland.
