  1. There's some real crazy goings on in this weeks BB.
  2. Hodgson's record as Lpool manager: P31 W13 D9 L9. Money spent by Hodgson as Lpool manager: £20 million Dalglish's record as Lpool manager: P30 W15 D6 L9 Money spent by Dalglish as Lpool manager: £114 million
  3. At their best an absolutely great band. Good time to call it a day, they might not have ended on a high but at least not a low point.
  4. Community starts tonight? I knew it was soon but didn't realise it was this week. That's awesome.
  5. Just come across this http://soundcloud.com/queen-of-hearts/02-black-star-produced-by/s-rfo96 I like it a lot.
  6. The Valencia - Barca match last night was great.
  7. I listened to the Rose Elinour Dougall album yesterday for the first time in a while. Still great.
  8. Haven't been to a gig since Sonar. I saw Cut Copy there who were absolutely awesome. Loads of great bands come here for Primavera and Sonar but outside of these bands don't seem to stop off here on their tours that often.
  9. Drunkenly posting about the meaning of pop music Anyway Nicola Roberts' (ginger one of girls aloud) debut album is out this month. I love both the singles. mUch better than any other GA solo efforts.
  10. Of course people have different ideas of what pop music is, that's inherent with the genre. E.g. stuff like Diarmad posted is not what I think of as pop music at all, does mean that's a bad thing. I tend to like more modern pop music but it doesn't bother me if there are load of posts of 70's hits. Maybe there should be a 2011 pop thread and a nostalgia pop thread, but considering there (to my knowledge has never been pop thread on here) an all encompassing thread seemed valid. And if there#s been anything obscure, is being recommended new music on an internet music forum really a big deal?
  11. Best Coast album is quite nice. Never really grabbed me though to listen repeatedly. I look forward to the review! I've been busier than I expected the last couple of days. Still need to properly listen to the mix I got.
  12. Ok so Aberdeen are shit but we were shit last year and still managed to tank East Fife. Fuck this must have been terrible.
  13. Just seems like he went to a private school and got a good level of English. The sort of person to whom it doesn't matter than the ridiculous level of unemployment would be far worse without tourism.
  14. Or you could explain why the thread got "clever"...
  15. This awful video http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/fast_track/9533632.stm
  16. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/sep/20/turkey-women-children-only-clubs
  17. Some tracks from my favourite pop releases this year (not including florrie / nadia oh, who has had/ will have a big post just about them) For some reason my favourite Eva & the Heartmaker track isn't on youtube (Find it on my latest spotify mix!) Anyway here's a live performance of a couple of the other best tracks.
  18. Until October my oldest students will be 14. I know you're young but still..... For me it would a different area. Only latino ladies in el raval. I was hoping to. planned on leasing a flat with a mate before I realised how ridiculous it can be getting one here. standard seems to be 2 months deposit plus "contract fees" which can be up to a grand. Need to save up a bit more before I have that money spare to put down.
  19. Just went out to get some food and listened to it on the way
  20. Awesome song. Decent album but nothing else touched that song. They were also great at Reading fest in 2003.
  21. at this point I was confused and thought I might be in the ace-ic thread. I was getting ready to tell you how no good news about flats is welcome right now. Then it turns out it's ok. moaning about flat hunting is definitely acceptable right now. I have a bed for tonight and tomorrow. After that it's all a bit uncertain. Seeing a place tomorrow I'm quite optimistic about and really I'll take anything. I'll just have to impress the potential flatmates.
  22. I live in Barcelona, the area I'm talking about is called El Raval. It's right in the centre of the old town but is well known as a dodgy area. There's a street which has hookers out looking for business 24 hours a day. It's one of the most likely areas for tourists getting pick pocketed. If you do get robbed there are plenty of shops where you'll likely find your phone for sale the next day. It has quite a few cool bars in the area though and a couple of the better clubs are near by. There's also an absinthe bar which was supposedly frequented by Hemmingway and Gaudi back in the day. Unsurprisingly the hookers are around there. Tourists wasted on absinthe are quite a good target market for them.
  23. If the flat's good I'll probably take it and just hope I don't get robbed too often.
