I saw The King's Speech at the cineman on Sunday. When it came out I didn't have any interest in it but after all the good reports I thought it was worth checking out. Glad I did. Very good film, much funnier and more entertaining than I imagined it would be.

I listened to the track on youtube rather than download it. I'm not really into altering tracklists so I'm not interested in having it at the end of Illmatic. I don't have any problems with the length of illmatic anyway. Track is great though.

I enjoyed it a lot. It would have been nice to have a bit more competition though. All 3 matches I saw were very one sided.

I thought the andy murray thread was really a general tennis thread anyway. Although I do know people like things on topic here. Don't know if I mentioned it before but I saw some live tennis for the first time a few weeks ago. Semi finals of the Barcelona open. I got to see Nadal who won his match comfortably. Sadly Murray had pulled out through injury. I saw the Bryan bros in the doubles too.

The age of dumbed down tv? We've never had it so good. There's great tv all over the place.

Got a bit lucky there but a great win after the injury. He should get to the semis and anything from there would be a bonus really.

I think you have to give Barca at least a goal for the Messi - Ronny Johnson match up.

Don't think Americans even like baseball these days. I find comparing sides of different eras a bit silly anyway. But since the season is over there's not much better to talk about. For example it's a little wierd to see journalists who weren't even born at the time argue that Madrid of the 50's were the best ever.

I'd be quite interested to know what more people outside of Britain think of that team. I imagine last years Inter side will go down in Italy as a great team but less so in the UK. It might be a similar situation with the 99 side.

They obviously were a very good side with probably the best midfield the premiership has ever seen. But a team wins the champions league every year. Obviously the teams which win it more often in a short period will be remembered more. Since I was still really big in to Serie a at the time I always remember that that Juve team was having a pretty bad year and only finished 6th. I know it shouldn't really take away from Utd's performance against them but still.

Fergie will obviously and rightfully be remembered for his long term ability to reinvent his side and constantly win things over such a long period. About as great as an achievement as a manager could achieve. I just wonder how much it gets to him that he hasn't won more Champions League titles. And I find it a funny coincidence that just when he's got close to rectifying that fact this Barca team has developed. I don't really think the 99 side will or should go down in history as an all time great team. I doubt people outside of the UK would consider them at all. I think the 07-09 team was best. sadly for Fergie rather than adding the one or two players needed to push even further forward he lost a couple of the best ones, obviously the most important being CRon. Great player Scholes. Although I still think he used his cannae tackle rep as a cover for him liking to hack people.

Thinking about it Fergie must be a little annoyed that this Barca team has come along at just this time. He'd only managed one CL final appearance in his first 20 years in charge. Something that definitely bothers him, he's said before how he thinks they should have won it more times. Even his great sides often struggled to get it just right in Europe. Then all of a sudden United reach 3 finals in 4 years, this year getting to the final without even much of a struggle. Unfortunately for him he's twice come up against a side that are just too good for united and more particularly a side perfectly set up to expose the weaknesses of his side. Rather than 2008 being the first of a great period it is just the second of 2 wins in 25 years. Because of this, in all these best team ever debates going on there isn't a Fergie side being seriously discussed.

I watched all the episodes out so far over the last few days. It is really great. I wouldn't say it was a slow burner at all, I was hooked right in after just a couple of episodes. And the ending of the latest episode has left me very impatient for the next one!
