There are also fouls which go unnoticed if the player doesn't go down and fouls which can be more dangerous if a player doesn't jump (leading to a fall) out the way. Dangerous tackling is a bigger problem needing solved than diving in modern football. But by far the biggest problem is the lack of tv technology to solve tough calls and specifically goal line decisions.

I don't really have a problem with players who go down easily when they are fouled. I've got used to it and understand it really. Total dives when there is no contact incidents live the famous Rivaldo ball to hip/face incident piss me off though.

Pedro was playing unbelievably well before christmas. He was possibly the best non-messi player. He rightfully established himself as a first team player on the level as the rest of the team. And then he started playing shit.

Villa was a bit annoying last night too I thought. He can be quite bad for the pain expressions ash he falls down easily. Messi usually behaves very very well although in the big games he can quite often have a petulant little kick at someone. I didn't notice xavi getting involved too much last night. Puyol, Keita, Mascherano and Pique stood out for me on the Barca side as the worst for crowding the ref. I used to really look forward to the Classicos now I'm quite happy that after Tuesday I wont have to see one for about 6 months. I don't like how nasty Pep and Mou are getting either. Jose's not as playful in his attacks as he used to be. He needs to get back to England.

Uni at times was far more stressful than anything I've experienced afterwards. Possibly because I don't have much career ambition and I just look for the easy relaxing options. In my book exams are stressful things for most people and they can moan about them whether they have a job or not especially if that moaning is done in a thread called "pet hates" or on their own facebook page.

If I were a more malicious man I'd probably neg rep you forever. Hating bananas, that just is not right. Bananas are godly. I'm more forgiving though so I won't do it. I just hope someone else will. QFT

To be honest I think it's been around as long as I can remember watching football. So at least 15 or so years. Tonight was a horribly extreme example though.

I've not watched it but that does seem to be the general consensus. I think most people say it's best to fight through 1 in order to enjoy 2 as best possible. Oh Community is awesome. Have I said that. Gonna rewatch it all again.

A match that was embarrassing at times, showing the worst side of football was just about saved by the man I'm becoming more and more comfortable describing as simply the best player ever. The bad taste of what went before isn't fully removed though. Awful behaviour from both teams. I usually love it when two teams hate each other and really go for it but the bitterness and tension between these two teams has become too much that the games are really suffering. It's a shame the idiots who think non-english football is always like this have got some ammunition. This match would be an extreme example whether you are talking about barca and mardrid or la liga or the premiership or the champions league. Judging by the centre of Barcelona right now you would think the tie is all over. With the second leg at camp nou I'd say it might as well be.
