So even though Brian Wilson released what he saw as a finished version of Smile in 2004, there will, apparently, be a completed version compiled from the original surviving recordings put out this summer. According to Al Jardine: http://www.examiner.com/pop-culture-in-nat...um-plus-smile-1 I'm not sure exactly what to think about this, Brian Wilson, who composed all the music, has already released a version he saw as complete and the widely praised purple chick bootleg gives us a very good interpretation using original recordings. It's impossible to ever know exactly what it would have been like if it was finished in 1967 (and what it's impact would have been) so I don't really see the point in it. I can't say I'm not interested though, I just hope it turns out to be more than just a money grabbing exercise.
