It was also written by Jamie Jackson. It's about as reliable as one of my posts. Edit - After having clicked on the link I realise that's not the same piece as I read yesterday. Barkley won't go anywhere this summer. I doubt any club will actually make a big bid for him. It's clearly too early for him to step up to a bigger team.

I don't think they will sign him either but he'd be a better buy right now than Barkley. McCarthy was their player of the season and at 23 should be about to come into his prime. Barkley wasn't even in the first 11 a lot of the time. Barkley obviously has the potential to be a better player though.

Almost every Celtic fan I know is rightly disappointed by the club's performance in the cup competitions in the last few seasons. Celtic are so far ahead of the rest that they should be targeting the treble. It shouldn't be expected as guaranteed but it is a very realistic target and not getting close is failure. Losing at home to Morton, a club which got relegated from the Championship and conceded 10 goals in one game against Hamilton, is something which should never happen. Edit - In Lennon's four full seasons Celtic won 2 out of the 8 domestic cup competitions they entered. This is the same as the previous four seasons, despite what happened to Rangers and Celtic being stronger in the league.
