  2. Rise and fall of a comic genius | Features | Guardian Unlimited Film I pretty much agree with everything said in that article and what others have said here. seasons 4-8 are just perfect though and as someone else said I would still call it the greatest tv show based on the great seasons.
  3. Agreed. 'That Boy, That Girl' is awesome. The only other song I've heard of theirs wasn't up to much though.
  4. U.S News presenter protests against having to lead with Paris Hilton story
  5. I'll miss the book and dvd sections a lot.
  6. I agree that I always think the captain should be a player who's spent a bit of time with the club. Severin does seem to be the best choice at the moment. If Jimmy wants to go a little mad though he could give to Michael Hart
  7. John Simm was awesome as the Master. Looking forward to the last episode.
  8. Anytime I've ever pre ordered a new album from play it has arrived at least 3 days after the release date:down:
  9. Sounds like a pretty bad idea to me. It would only be likely to cause extra trouble at certain games but I don't think you could have a law which only applies to certain fixtures. Old Firm matches have been scheduled early in the afternoon to limit pre game drinking, it would seem strange to now let them drink once inside the ground.
  10. I've only managed to see Neighbours once in the last 2 months due to work:swearing: and the one episode i did see ended with Karl and Susan unknowingly giving money to Izzy who was begging on the streets of London. Thinking about it now, after that ending I should have quite my job just to see the next few episodes. Anyone be so kind as to explain what was going on there?
  11. I find it really strange that apparantly this "... got talent" format has been sold all over the world over the last year or so. Surely the format is exactly the same as old shows like the ones mentioned above.
  12. Agreed htat the ending was great in how it set up the last two episodes. Overall theough I thought it was one of the weaker episodes, definitely a come down from Blink which was awesome and the two parter before it.
  13. Something for the weekend is great. It's great for sunday morning viewing. T4 really doesn't have much worth watching at the moment. Musicool was quite good when it was on. June Sarpong (MBE o_O) is possibly the worst presenter ever.
  14. by all accounts the hotel service they refused was pretty much the same as what they were doing themselves, a member of staff would check on them every half hour. The fact that the hotel has such a service indicates that they are hardly the first couple to leave their kids unattended at the hotel. Anyway all that seems besides the point just now. The huge amount of public and media attention has been quite suprising. It's one of these cases, which are becomming more and more common, where it feels like everyone must display a high level of sadness or be shunned. I read the other day that the amount of money put up by celebrities has already passed the annual budget of the missing childrens helpline which constantly does what everyone is hoping to see with Madeline McCann, reunite a lost child with her parents. Surely Wayne Rooney's and J K Rowling's money could be put ot better use? Seeing people on vrious television shows wearing these yellow ribbons only makes me think that they are jumping on a media bandwagon rather than raising awareness. If there is anyone left in the UK who doesn't know about Madeline McCann I'd be suprised.
  15. Lets hope this is a better match than the FA cup or champions league finals. I too will be supporting the pars despite it being a bad result for the dons.
  16. Kaka had a decent game, not great but he was one of the best players on the pitch in what I found to be a disappointingly poor match. I can only believe that the people who say it was entertaining are comparing it only to the FA cup final. Kaka was made to look inneffective by the poor play of his team mates around him. Seedorf as should be expected was poor. Kaka didn't have the options available most of the game to open Liverpool up. Saying that on other days he would have conjured up more individual skill to break through himself.
  17. Higgins was completely out of the zone for the first session yesterday and wasn't too much better for the the early part of last night. Somehow he got it together and won the last 4 in a row. He'd been awesome throughout the whole tournament though, deserved champion.
  18. I can't believe Scooch are still trying, they never made it the first time when there was arguably a bigger market for terrible cheesy pop. I can't possibly take them seriously after seeing one of the men on the channel 4 show where they tried to turn men into a succesful girl group o_O
  19. Lifeblood is great, the Manics second best album after The Holy Bible.
  20. I would expect it to be gone long before we get to that stage.
  21. Tv on the Radio - Blues from down here it's been aaaages since I've posted in this thread
  22. ah I didn't spot that thread. I seem to remember some good discussion for snooker on here before, suprised it didn't get any replies. Anyway, good tournament, good final, I'm happy Higgins has won.
  23. So who else has spent the majority of the past two weeks watching the snooker? It's been a great championship, particularily after last years which I found to a little disappointing. It looked last night like the final would be an anti-climax but Selby is fighting back, we could end up with the exciting final the two semis suggested there would be.
  24. This came as a bit of a suprise but I bet it's put a smile on Gordon Brown's face.
  25. I've also never had the fortune of seeing them lose. The thing that annoys me most is when Dermot says "can anyone beat the Eggheads" or somehting along those lines, when they lost less than five episode before.
