I love watching the champions league but I also fondly remember the times when it, the uefa cup and cup winners cup were all entertaining and had great football. I'd love it if the Europa League could be turned into something with a bit of magic about it again.

Hasn't the Europa League final been on a weekend in recent years? If it's been moved I assume its because of the world cup. I like the captain says it's a good tournament once it reaches the final stages. Unfortunately Thursday night football has been impossible for me to watch this year so I've not seen any of it. I think it's only England which rates the tournament so low. Other countries rate it higher and even English sides actually go for it once they reach the last 8 or so. Giving the winners a CL spot is a good idea but more important than encouraging teams to go for it I think, is to make the competition different and stand out from the Champions League. I would make the Europa League more like the FA Cup. Single leg fixtures, straight knock out from the beginning, no groups. Home side to be decided by the draw. If a team wants to play a weakened side then they can go out after one game instead of six. There would be shocks and entertainment and less fixture congestion. All good.

I thought it was a good week for the Danaerys story. Not really entertaining but it strengthened that plot. It showed that the Dragons have outgrown her control and the tedium of actually ruling rather than conquering brought her down to earth a bit.

I'm not arguing that, people who run this or any site can do so however they want. I just don't think it's ridiculous for users to comment on how they would like the site run.

If an online forum doesn't take account of what its users want, then it may lose its users and have no point in existing.

Gerrard has for a long time been held up on a pedestal by the English media, mistakes ignored (apart from when so bad ignoring was impossible), good work praised to a silly extent and generally treated as a king of English football. However that article goes too far and denies him some credit he deserves from this season. Of course he was not the second best player in the league this season but he was better than some of the players the article names such as Coutinho, Willian and Cazorla. He had his best season in years and was superb during their 11 game winning run.

Deschamps has basically said that he doesn't like him. He chose what he thinks will be the best squad rather than the best players.

Her - I went to the cinema for the first time in the while yesterday and watched this. I'd heard lots of good things about it but I was very disappointed by it. I was bored at various points throughout it and the more I've thought about it since the more i think that it just wasn't very good. 4/10

You could say exactly the same thing about AVB this season, and add the fact he was excellent the year before. Those willy nilly signings were done by a man whose job never appears under threat.

That's true. But someone may find music which has sold millions to be real, full of feeling and have meaningful lyrics and other may be happy to just hum along to a song a pained artist slaved over for ages before making no money from it. It's incredibly snobbish to assume how another person feels about a piece of music based upon your own opinions of it.

There's a good argument for De Gea but I think Casillas has played enough to keep his place. Especially as many of the matches he has played were against the toughest opposition and in knock out tournament football. Plus I have a big man crush on him.

I like Betty more as a character, perhaps just because I think Mad Men is a better written show in general, but I don't think there's as much reason to sympathise with her. Yes she was married to a serial adulterer but that doesn't really excuse the way she behaves and treats people.

Del Bosque likes to stick by his favourites so I wouldn't be surprised if he's still second in the order. He shouldn't be there at all if Valdes was fit.
