There was a comment from an Arsenal fan on the Guardian under the Atletico - Milan match. It said something along the lines of think what could have been if Wenger had gone out and bought Costa in January. As if it would have been that easy, just ask and he would come.

Bayern and Real are clearly ahead of the rest at the moment. I hope they are kept apart in the draw for the next round as even though I'd hate to see Madrid win it, they would make a great final.

It is quite clearly (while also terrible and down with this sort of thing etc) one of the best football banners of all time. City were outclassed tonight. Some people seem to be praising their performance, saying they did well to contain Barca but City should be aiming for much more than that. They were trailing and needed to be on the offensive. They are a few steps away from winning this thing.

When is Ramsey back?

Anyone think City have a chance tonight? I can't ever remember there being as much doubt about Barca when in a second leg match at home after having won the away leg but the fact City are in a bad patch of form themselves means I think a match similar to last night's is quite likely.

I was looking at it earlier and really wasn't sure. The way Cazorla tumbled at the end made me think there might have been some contact. Very minimal if there was though and still a dive.

More moaning from Wenger today. Saying bad decisions have decided the tie. Now I only saw the last hour of the first game and last half hour last night but I saw Arsenal being comfortably outplayed by a team that looked to be coasting.

I might have been a bit unfair here, even if I think he'd be better advised keeping his mouth shut than hinting at conspiracies. Going back and looking at the incidents again I'd forgotten how ridiculous the Lehman and RVP red cards were.

I got all I wanted from it. The show was always about the relationship of the two detectives more than the case. However I'd still say the case was resolved satisfactorily. I don't really think any extra information about Dora Lange is necessary. It seems like there were a lot of people online who were looking for clues and wanting to find things which had extra significance as if the show was LOST or something. I'm very happy the show didn't go down that route.

The Alex Miller period was terrible, really awful. Him, McGhee and Paterson were the three managers in my time as a Dons fan I just couldn't wait to see the back of. Flo was a ridiculous signing, he was a very good player in his way but far too limited for a Scottish club to be spending that much money on him. He was never a player to win matches on his own, which is what people would expect for that much money in Scotland.

His lifestyle was definitely a problem. I'm defending him really because I don't think he quite deserves to be mentioned in the same league as Brian O'Neil when it comes to wasting money.

He was good at first. He played in the 94 world cup and 96 euros in decent Bulgaria squads, he was no mug. 300k or whatever was not a big waste at the time.
