  1. Yes it could stop mega rich billionaires from buying clubs which is absolutely perfect for the mega rich billionaires who already own clubs. The teams at the top are able to comply with the rules using stadium deals like you mentioned as well as other things. What won't be able to happen is for someone to invest and take a team from mid-table to the top.
  2. FFP will only serve to protect the status quo of the current big teams winning.
  3. This is a wonderful piece http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/jan/31/alessandro-del-piero-sydney-fc-australia Read if you ever liked Del Piero / football italia
  4. A salary cap is pretty much impossible in football, if you also want to have top players in your league and be competitive in European competitions. Whichever channel had coverage of the fa cup last year had about 9 hours of build up on the day it was total overkill actually. I'd be lying if i said the tournament had the same prestige for me as it did as a kid but not being a kid has a lot to do with that. For years FA Cup matches were the only ones I could watch live on TV and reaching the final felt very significant. However now that I can watch numerous live matches every weekend that sort of excitement is gone. But the tournament itself still excites me, it's something there to be won and competition is what football is about. Sure sometimes I might look at FA Cup fixtures and groan because there are no match ups which excite me but that is luck of the draw. On the other hand City - Chelsea and Arsenal - Liverpool are much more exciting to me than those fixtures in the league because they are knock out games and despite a few years when it maybe wasn't true I think all the big teams really want to win the cup. Fans certainly want their team to win it. I don't know any to ask but if I were a Wigan fan I'd have taken winning the cup and getting relegated last season. Few football fans will get to feel as good as they did when Watson scored that late goal. The issues which do diminish the competition are with scheduling. The Final must be played at 3pm. Rounds shouldn't be squeezed in between congested periods of league fixtures. The league could help with this and improve itself at the same time by reducing to 18 teams.
  5. In my opinion gimmicks like that would look desperate and (most likely) shit and put me off. The FA cup is great and there is very little wrong with it.
  6. Huge Dick and Huge Dick ready. The difference seems pretty obvious to me but I'm sure you'll get the hang of Grindr soon enough.
  7. Arsenal are going after Kallstrom apaprently. Has Wenger been playing champ man 2001?

  9. Season 1 was good, season 2 it started to annoy me and season 3 has been mostly pants so far. I binge watched 1 and 2 and I think I found the negative aspects easier to ignore then but watching this new season an episode at a time has left me thinking I might be wasting my time.
  10. I'll throw my hat into the chickpea curry hat but I don't really cook much meat at home so if I make a curry it will almost always be a veggie one.
  11. Okay own up. Which one of you forgot to tell me that Modern Family started its fifth season way back in September? I'm generally good with keeping up to date with shows, but when it comes to US comedies I need guidance.
  12. Indeed if they were playing 19th century football West Ham without doubt would have been set out in a 2-3-5 formation and unless there were some scots on the team all about lumping it forward and going on mad dribbles brushing past the opposition. They'd have also have been appalled by such ungentlemanly conduct as feigning injury.
  13. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/education/education-news/longer-school-days-shorter-holidays-and-45hour-weeks-could-be-the-perfect-manifesto-to-win-the-tories-the-next-election-9095549.html Terribly shite thinking.
  14. It didn't do much for me. I liked one song I heard first but the whole album was just a bit bland.
  15. Jose's so much more of a dick than he used to be. He was always a bit of a twat, but a likable one. Now he's more often than not full of shite. The thing which bugged me last night was that he said it was okay for West Ham to play like that but you can't expect to sell the premier league around the world with those kind of games. Actually a match like last night is quite entertaining. There wasn't a shortage of opportunities and there's the constant tension of whether Chelsea would finally get one or West Ham could hold out. The real turgid matches that harm the premier league is the like of Man U - Chelsea at the start of the season when two unadventurous big teams serve up a load of insomnia curing drivel.
  16. He's awful and the fact he is responsible for their "tactics" columns is a joke and show's that no one at BBC Sport really knows or cares about developing more in-depth coverage of the game.
  17. Way to spoil our fun Mr Knows how the internet works.
  18. If someone mentioned a facebook page called The Cunt Hunt and said it was full of 'banter', I'd have been expecting something completely different.
  19. I'm expecting big things from the Big Phil Jones and King Pat buddy cop fan fiction thread sodajerk is rumoured to be starting in April.
  20. Do you really think they are that bad? Punishment by Pauly Shore seems extreme.
