  1. Ben wasn't in Quik in 1977. And whether you like or hate mmw - I still don't understand how you can think we're emo? ?(
  2. och aye the noo. Tatties and neeps.
  3. If it's a high pitched rubbish girly scream' date=' then chances are it's me, hahaha. I'd have to say the only bit (in my opinion!) that is Killswitch Engage-esque, is the very final riff... but I'm happy to take that as a compliment anyway .
  4. Think it'll just be the scottish dates if we are doing it, rish.
  5. Well, I think everyone would agree that the snare sounds weird... we actually recorded 4 songs and for some reason this is the only one that the snare came out sounding dodgy. Must have been a mixing thing, but I'm sure (drummer) nick will rectify it! Owning it on cd I know it's a lot less muddy than previous recordings that we've done... maybe that's mp3 quality or maybe I'm biased... who knows! I am positive however that out of the four songs we recorded, this one is far and away the most difficult to get 'into' due to the song length and structure. But, that's what we're going for these days, like it or loathe it. It was recorded/engineered/mixed etc by ourselves, up in glasgow for free. All music was recorded in one day at Nick's college, and all vocals were recorded on another day in Nick's bedroom wardrobe!
  6. Hey folks! We've been seemingly out of action in recent months - and as you may or may not be aware, we parted ways with Jamesy a little while back and hence, haven't been gigging of late. For extended info on this click HERE However we have been pretty productive since then, having written some new material and also just finished recording our new EP, which is untitled as of yet. It will feature four songs including 'At Least You Aren't Dead' which is now up on our myspace (there's a link to it on the feedback forum). Musically, it is a natural progression from our previous songs, but a fair bit heavier, more progressive/technical and also in some places, catchier! We'll be looking to release it sometime between the next four to six weeks. We have a mini tour with Enter Shikari looking likely in October as well as a tour of England in January, which is currently being finalised. We also have a new guitarist in the pipeline, but more info on this will be released at a later date! Oh... and we have some new(ish) t-shirts available if anyone fancies splashing out!
  7. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=2079244 The track is called 'At Least You're Not Dead' and is definitely our most proggy affair yet, and also the heaviest in places. Hope you enjoy it
  8. I thought it pretty good... and then I realised it was 'Samantha Marson' that I was listening to. So then I listened to your newer song as well, which is also good. It sounds like weezer being played by Scottish people. Except with Iggy Pop's 'lust for life' for an intro.
  9. 'Tiger'... what sort of name is that for a mutant kitty? 'Borgo the invincible', 'Chernobyl Tweedy' or 'Face Face' would all be far more appropriate.
  10. I'm not overly interested in solo bass pieces unless it's incredible... if youre into thats sort of stuff, have a listen to this guy - he's my mate who usually plays in a wicked band called cryforsilence, but he's gone and done this as well: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=33812774 This piece is by no means flashy, but when going full out, he's the best bassist I have seen in the flesh. And he's a sex pest as well.
  11. Threat Signal... and their new album 'under reprisal': "THREAT SIGNALs music can be described as low-end, syncopated thrash, with melody intertwined. The band combines the complexity of old school and European thrash music with de-tuned, technical syncopation, as well as melodic singing and musical passages. THREAT SIGNAL takes influences from highly established bands such as SOILWORK, FEAR FACTORY, PANTERA, MESHUGGAH, and DEVIN TOWNSEND". Sound good? http://www.myspace.com/threatsignal Check out the song 'counterbalance' for example.
  12. nope... the clue was in "the dungeon". A certain mr. Dave 'aubl' Bradley.
  13. with well over a quarter of a million views.... the brother of someone who many of you may know from the aberdeen music scene dungeon days. the most interesting viewing you will ever see.
  14. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4676364116443019925&q=trivium (I can't take credit for this as it is courtesy of the guys in ascension)
  15. "The two people who perpetrated these crimes are not football fans." So how do you explain the Rangers shirt....?
  16. Enlighten me with your super-accurate sub-genres then, maxi - what would you describe them as so that everyone (except cunts) will understand?
  17. funnily enough dude, i've just been talking to my brother about protest the hero... he loves them! The stuff I heard I was impressed by, but havn't heard a full album yet.
  18. Along with alexisonfire, underoath are the only screamo/emo band that I actually like... ...and with good reason; their new album 'Define the Great Line' is AWESOME. It sounds to me like they have been listening to far too much Norma Jean and Every Time I Die, which is a very good thing indeed - as 'Define the Great Line' is a far more brutal album than 'chasing safety'. There is no 'wussy-ness' to this one at all.
  19. I wouldn't quote that in a&e after a nasty accident... But on a more serious note, it is a shame - as you guys clearly earned a pretty big fanbase in aberdeen and will therefore be missed. So all the best in your separate pursuits!
