  3. This is impossible to answer. I would say my two 'all-time' favourite bands were Metallica and Megadeth - totally shaped the way I got into music and have so many good songs each. They are the two bands I collect stuff by (massive ammounts of each bands stuff, especially metallica). However my favourite bands over the last 5 years of my life are Killswitch Engage, Soilwork and Misery Signals who have had a profound impact on me musically. My favourite band at the moment is Textures though (http://www.myspace.com/textures) and they have been for a year or so now. They combine all the best bits from Soilwork, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah and Pantera - all of whom I love! Technical playing, great melodies, brutal riffs etc etc Dream Theater, Opeth, Pantera, Devy T... man, there are so many bands that I couldn't choose just one! But I guess when pushed, I would have to say overall Metallica due to what they have done - but they are definitely not my 'favourite band' these days, so maybe that doesn't answer the question.

  5. king of the kill was more cheesy rock, a few good songs here and there - and quite catchy too, but not brilliant. Some disgusting lyrics! ("21" for example!)
  6. his artwork is amazing. It looks like he bases a lot of influence from fractal dimensions and chaos theory though, especially some of the flame eye paintings. Awesome stuff.
  7. Buy one of these instead: *Thread hi-jacking*
  8. "You'll be the cleaner then....start with the toilet. Nice green jacket by the way."
  9. "Nice to see you again Brian. Where's Roger Taylor, Freddie and the bassist whose name one always forgets?" "You mean John Deacon? Him and Rodge couldn't make it, they've never enjoyed Queen reunion's. Lol. Oh... and Freddie's dead, he died of gAIDS.." "Freddie is dead? That is a shame. And he was a poof? One would never have guessed!" "Well it was obvious really, have you never seen the 'I Want To Break Free' music video?" "Of course I did. One rather enjoyed that song although one just asssumed he was wearing fancy dress?" "No, not at all. In fact that was the only Queen video where he didn't dress up..." "I see. So he was DEFINITELY gay then?" "Proper bent, love." "Rob Halford?" "Gay." "Ritchie Blackmore?" "Might as well be, he's away with the fairies anyway..." "I see. One does not approve. What about James Hetfield?" "Nah, he just hunts them."
  10. Regardless of whether you like or hate trivium, there's no denying how much metallica influenced them, and they could definitely match metallica's musicianship. i think they will definitely do the song 'justice' (ho ho) Fightstar on the other hand... put it this way, I know for a FACT they don't play all of leper messiah themselves... Anyway this has all been done before, by the mighty Dream Theater, who covered the entire master of puppets album in a single set. Legends. Should be an interesting listen nevertheless.
  11. Very true, I'm currently listening to Helloween if anyone wanted proof...
  12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY lenjamino! x x x x
  13. Not always. There are lots of guitarists who could shred but in the context of great songs (megadeth/pantera etc). Just because you're not into metal/shred doesn't mean it's all bad. Some is wank, some isn't.
  14. yep, including the classic (from battle magic): the dark leige of choas is unleashed at the ensorclled shrine of A' Zura K'ai (the splendour of a thousand swords gleaming beneath the blazon of the hyperborean empire Pt II) That would have probably been quicker for me to fucking google search it. I'm gonna listen to that album now actually
  15. happy birthday chief! I will hopefully pop by a little later on tonight
  16. I know where you can get one of these from... And for a bargain too, considering they don't make them anymore. Having said that I am tempted to keep it, but may be persuaded otherwise.

hahahahaha! I thought exactly the same thing!
  18. Unknown to most of you here, I am a musician but I am ALSO a budding bollywood film-maker. Here are a few clips from some of my movies: Sanjeev And The Angry Hand This film deals with the problems developing countries face regarding their socio-political views on slavery and the surpression faced by woman in that culture. The Talented Sam Patel This film is about a man who is considered a fool by his family and his peers for being an idiot, but his life his turned around when he discovers he has an incredible skill. The Gunman And The King It is a little known fact that 'the King' of India is alive and well. However, this film is a comedy about his regular futile assissination attempts. Please take the time to view the short clips from each review and add your comments.
  19. No, no, no! The argument here is that there is no point in putting up a hastily recorded demo of an unfinished song for general public critique if you are only going to turn round and say, "this is only our rough direction, the song is nowhere near finished - but it will be a lot better when it is... honest." Sainsbury's don't sell products labelled with "this isn't properly cooked and half the ingredients are missing, but it will be ace when it is finished - so try it and see if you like it anyway"... (ok that was a shit analogy, but you catch my drift! )
  20. I think that the point that MKII is trying to make is that; Bands (like Former Minister) put up poor quality, 'unfinished' demos online for criticism/review/general public awareness etc, but then after they get negative comments, they try and defend the demo with excuses such as: " we weren't feeling very up to it", "I was a bit ill", "haven't had our instruments restrung/set up properly" etc etc etc etc etc. That is all very well - but if they are merely unfinished jams, unpolished/out of tune, and not an exact representation of the band - then why put them online AND tell people about it? Why not keep them to yourself, and once you have recorded something that you're happy with, THEN share it with the world? I can see exactly where he (MKII) is coming from.
  21. haha, cheers hog but I bought "Battle magic" by them back in 1998! I love it actually, and a lot of the music reminds me of alton towers katanga canyon style music, or that computer game (if anyone remembers it; ) 'age of empires'. Oh, and occassionally like King Arthur too... A lot of people would probably find this their idea of hell, but I like it
  22. I really enjoyed that episode actually. But it does close and open a heap of theories. I agree with pretty much everything Jaseyboi said except that I'm not convinced Jack is the ultimate source of answers. Too much stuff points otherwise, although i guess with some 'the faculty' style flashbacks showing 'what really happened' they could make it appear that jack is the main guy. But I doubt it really. And that Henry guy is definitely suspect in some shape or form - he would be a pretty pointless character if he wasn't! However, the fact Zeke refers to a higher 'he' means that obviously there is a far bigger picture and heirachy of people conducting experiments.
