  1. Do you mean EXACTLY like Tool, or similar? Cos Earthtone 9 sound similar to Tool in places. Both bands are awesome... I'd also like to add that originality doesn't necessarily equate to 'good-ness'. I could fart a symphony whilst scratching some decks with a violin bow and it would be original... though I highly doubt it would be in any way beneficial to the world of music.
  2. Last night, Starfall CD launch at the lemon tree: Luke from Starfall said this before starting a song: "Has anyone heard of a band called Pantera?" (Considering 2 or 3 Pantera songs had been played back to back between the bands and most people were singing/moshing along, that seemed like asking if 'anyone has heard of a person called George W. Bush'...) "Well, their guitarist 'Dimebag DALLAS' was shot on stage... [etc etc] and this song's dedicated to him!" Oh deary me... However, it was indeed a pretty good gig.
  3. Well said sir. Also I might add that BT's haunting keyboards make them stand out from the crowd (in terms of what they sound like rather than actual 'better-ness')
  4. I bet if bleeding swapped their short hair and fashionable clothes for mullets, bullet belts and corpse paint you'd love them.
  5. No, you're thinking of that guy Scott. He is rubbish.
  6. I have dreaming neon black, enemies of reality and dead heart in a dead world... Awesome guitar sound and playing although I'm not a massive fan of Warrel's voice. I also think their riffs would be shredd-ier if the guitars weren't tuned down so low (especially on enemies)
  7. Hello everyone. Had an awesome time at the gig and it really was a great line up to be on. Thanks everyone for the kind comments, it really is appreciated. I have to be honest I enjoyed all the bands - however - did anyone not think that alesisonfire and the bled were VERY loud? My ears are still ringing. Not a bad turn out though, although not a great atmosphere. There's just something about Aberdeen. Anyway, here's to hoping that there will be more gigs of a similarly high profile coming to Aberdeen in the near future!
  8. Certainly do chief, i had strictly diesel (their first proper album) pretty soon after it came out... check out their cover of Babylon (originally by faster pussycat) featuring Ginger wildheart. Fooking class!
  9. just listening to the tunes again, some pretty decent shit going on there! Very backyard babies. Which is a good thing as I mean the leopard skin/total13 BYB as opposed to the couldn't-write-any-more-good-songs-afterwards BYB.
  10. well it would be a bit impolite if I didn't bump this thread.
  11. Well their last live performance was energetic and tight as fuck - especially considering most of the band were ill. They just have decent poppy rock songs... I wouldn't have said they were even an emo band, never mind a cliched one.
  12. That's subjective. After seeing JT twice and HWG once, I would much rather see HWG again than JT. Therefore it hasn't turned into a dodgy line-up. If some people are allowed to voice there opinion as if it were gospel then surely I am allowed to as well?
  13. In this months Metal Hammer it has a list of the top 50 bands you should check out: In the number 1 slot is ALEXISONFIRE In the number 4 slot is THE BLED Both of these bands are travelling the atlantic to play Moshulu on the 5th of December (this sunday) Hiding With Girls are playing again and they were excellent when they played here last time. Also My Mind's Weapon are playing but I don't give a fuck if you come and watch us... just please come show your support for a fantastic bill, cos if you keep coming - then Moshulu will keep getting great bands. Tickets are ONLY 8, which is ridiculously cheap to see 2 of the top 4 bands of 2004/05 (according to MH) as well as a great English band and MMW. So that is: ALEXISONFIRE THE BLED HIDING WITH GIRLS MY MINDS WEAPON Sunday 5th Dec. I might also add that Breed 77 and Black Atom shall be ripping it up in Moshulu on the 2nd of Dec (thursday) so make it a week of metal!! Thanks Dan
  14. Ben and I would have loved to have gone and seen Unearth but on a bill that large their set probably wouldnt have been worth the journey for them alone.
  15. Ahhh... I see. You're just jealous cos you're not a scenie.
