  1. Oh, and Emperor's cover of "Gypsy" by King Diamond/Mercyful Fate is excellent!
  2. I think "The Red in The Sky is Ours" is a rubbish album, as is "With Fear I Kiss the Burning darkness" I was put off At The Gates for a long time cos those were the first two albums I bought by them. Of course later I discovered Slaughter of the Soul and Terminal Spirit Disease which are both far superior. Of course they were the fore runners of melodic(ish) death metal... Black metal however, I am generally not a fan of. I noticed Emperor got a bit of a late mention, and thought they should definitely be heralded as greats in the genre. I also find C.o.Filth to be one of very few black metal bands I can vaguely listen to, possibly due to their accessabilty. I think the blast beat drumming and lord of the rings style vocal often puts me off, and the songs are written around classical music scales rather than the more groove-vibe of death metal. Oh, and the corpse paint and spikes... It looks fucking ridiculous! Black metal is meant to be serious, yet most of the bands look like fucking clown shoes. Gid een. But whatever floats your boat...
  3. Slipknot are still doing that same sit down/jump up thing? Jeez, they did that when I saw them in 2000! Still - glad it was good, wish I could have been there!
  4. I believe the original name of the band was "Metal Attack"
  5. Yeah - in the "who can give the longest list of rubbish metalcore albums" competition! (kidding )
  6. No Craig i'd never do a thing like that.
  7. No. He DEFINITELY said that. Definitely.
  8. Rish, check out (if possible) All That Remains, and let me know what you think! On that note, my list is probably NOT very good, cos I'm more "metal" than I am "core"... Apparently.
  9. *looks for clapping smilie but does so unsuccessfully, instead leaving a sentence in asterisks showing that he thought Eriatarka's post was very good*
  10. Hey! Why did you delete your post?
  11. Cheers Graeme, glad you like them! Thanks for the feedback man - much appreciated.
  12. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE: Alive Or Just Breathing KILLSWITCH ENGAGE: The End Of Heartache THRICE: The Artist In The Ambulance ATREYU: Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses SHADOWS FALL: The Art Of Balance GOD FORBID: Gone Tomorrow CHIMAIRA: The Impossibilty Of Reason
  13. 10 and a half inches. There, that will save most of you the bother. I assume you all wanted to know the size of a standard ruler if about one and a half inches of it was snapped off?
  14. I am going with Heather... Although only cos I'm up seeing Killswitch/God Forbid etc the night before in Glasgow so thought we'd stay up for Sugarcult too. Not really my thing but the new album is pretty solid.
  15. although godsmack aren't that big over here, they've sold millions of albums on the other side of the pond.
  16. godsmack's first album had some great songs on it...
  17. Not quite - the shite I listen to actually comes from the same place that you get your second name:
  18. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooops.
  19. No, Ben was right as he was referring to a scene in Family Guy - from the episode "ready, willing and disabled"
  20. No songs on that last longer than 10 minutes. "And Justice For All" the song only lasts about 9:44. Anyway, I'd pick: OPETH - The Drapery Falls WILDHEARTS - Sky Babies DREAM THEATER - The Glass Prison SYMPHONY X - The Odessey
  21. No he doesn't. He says MMW rules and that his dad is bigger than your dad so don't mess.
  22. Stephen Hawking says: "VIVA BLACK ATOM!"
