  1. Oops. Wrong forum. I thought I was in wasteland territory.
  2. MY MINDS WEAPON FUCKING RULE!!
  3. Stream the song "I Killed Rock And Roll" to find out... Is this progremo?
  4. my recomendations: SPIRITUAL BEGGARS - Ad Astra because stoner rock can be very good when it is done properly. CARCASS - Heartwork because it is very very very very good and it is also heavier than a really heavy house that has a family of fat people living in it (and they have all their relatives round too) KILL II THIS - Deviate because not many bands make records that sound like machine head meets fear factory without sounding piss. THE HAUNTED - The Haunted because Sweden rules. Also because it is the best thash album of the 90's that nods towards the 80's but doesn't sound dated at all.
  5. I don't know whatyer on about Len?
  6. Check their forum man, Kryss explains the deal! (p.s. Have you downloaded "I killed rock and roll" yet? ) Heavy Metal Rampage!
  7. You all better watcher out, because whatya see will kick some ass!
  8. ...strength of a bear and something else of a thingy! Visionaries were cool as fuck as well.
  9. Rainbow - I surrender ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man
  10. It's a bit heavier than your others, but awesome driving songs: Van Halen - Why Can't This Be Love Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town Deep Purple - Speed King Queen - Now I'm Here Iron Maiden - Be Quick Or Be Dead Megadeth - Skin O My Teeth Twisted sister - I Wanna Rock Judas Priest - Painkiller (you NEED this song!) Anthrax - Madhouse Black Sabbath - The Wizard The Eagles - Life In The Fast Lane Metallica - Enter Sandman Guns N Roses - Nightrain Lynyrd Skynyrd - Three Steps Status Quo - Whatever You Want Europe - The Final Countdown Slash's Snakepit - Alien AC/DC - Thunderstruck Bon Jovi - Lay Your Hands On Me
  11. Oh, and I must thank Ross Morrison for lending me the Sikth CD - I'll bring it to Moshulu next week big guy... :O
  12. Sikth - "hold my finger" The sonic equivalent of a lego gerbil having physical relations with a turnip-sized helicopter called Graham. Yes it is that mad. But awesome nevertheless!
  13. yeah, to play like Mick would be pretty difficult. He has those awesome diminished sweeps pretty nailed!
  14. I think as far as an ORIGINAL style goes... well I think VERY few people in the world can claim to have achieved that status. As far as my own style goes, I would definitely say Kirk Hammett meets Chuck Schuldiner (from Death)... with a hint of Marty Friedman (ex-megadeth). But that comes from the fact I grew up playing guitar to Metallica so I can't help the kirk factor - and the fact I like to use exotic scales similar to that of Chuck and Marty. If you want to stream a MMW song, listen to the solo about 3 minutes into the song "I Killed Rock And Roll" and even though it's only about 10 seconds long, you can see where I'm coming from. http://www.purevolume.com/mymindsweapon
  15. I've had their song 'Powerless' in my head... "Powerless Powerless Powerless just a grain of sand caught in nature's hand" Great song. Must have been done sometime between 1991-94. Anyone remember this?
  16. Hendrix beat up his bitches. He was alright... Phil Anselmo is a fucking tosser. Pantera were ace. Hitler gassed a load of jews. (didn't write any good songs though)
  17. Yeah that's a pretty good bargain! I got the Strapping Young Lad setlist when I saw them live, but I gave it to Hog because I'm nice and he's obsessed I remember buying "City" in Edinburgh and at the same time I bought "Cruelty And The Beast" by Cradle Of Filth and "Greed" by Pulkas' ... I bet you not many folk can remember Pulkas! They would have well popular if they came out a couple of years later. Fuck me, that must have been 1998! It doesn't feel like that long ago. The 2000's are going way too quickly...
  18. All Hail the new flesh is amazing! So is detox and underneath the waves off the same album. Actually that whole album is ace.
  19. Informer You know say me daddy me snow me a gonna blame A licky boom boom down detective man say daddy me snow me stab someone down the lane or something like dat. Cracker.
  20. Some mighty fine choices indeed! You could always ask One up to order you those Soilwork albums... Once you've got into those bands, I'll see how suggestable you are to a wee bit of Carcass "Heartwork" and "Arbeit Macht Fleisch" (from the album "Heartwork") are pretty nifty songs if that radiostation thingy has them....
  21. I'm glad you like the new in flames one. I was pretty disappointed to be honest. Sounds like a cross between Him, Korn and Reroute to Remain. And I don't like Him, Korn and not much of reroute to remain so you could see it coming... In Flames just dropped all those lovely guitar harmonies that made their old stuff so classy and memorable. I'm sure those lovely people at HMV could provide you with a bit of Soilwork though!
