  1. Dude you can probably* play it better than I can so feel free! However I also have a little nifty one in same said song...
  2. Re: Re: Remember these lyrics?! Or maybe you've never seen the Labyrinth - and therefore you are as deprived as an ethiopian family. And one of the lower class ones as well...not the fancy middle class ones who live in mud huts and eat cow pat and rice for dinner.
  3. My above example ain't THAT hard and it's one that I like to wing every now and again. Here's a cool one I came up with: (F#minor) ---------9-h-14-p-9----------------------14-h-19-p-14------------------------18-h-21-p-18--------------- -----10----------------10-------------15--------------------15--------------19--------------------19----------- --11------------------------9--s--14-----------------------------14--s--18------------------------------18------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4. I would have loved to have been at the gig, and if teh critic rates stuff more than 2/10 than it has to be good!
  5. I'd say covering for a shit guitarist or bassist depends entirely on the style of band that is playing. eg most twin guitar attack metal/hard rock bands need good guitarists to be all flashy and shit - and then let the bass player be solid - whereas funk or hip/hop or single guitar bands, I'm sure it would be harder to cover a shit bassist. However a good bass player is just as hard to find as guitarists etc etc, but it's great fun to take the piss out of them because they know they are far less important than us wankers
  6. "You remind me of the baby What baby? the baby with the power What power? power of voodoo Who do? you do Do what? remind me of the baby" Classic! I love that film...just bought it on DVD (after originally getting it on VHS for my 7th birthday!)
  7. Ginger James Hetfield Devin Townsend Dave Mustaine Jerry Cantrell/Layne Staley Up until 1996 I would say Ginger was the world's best songwriter. I smile when I think of the absolute brilliance of the first 4 Wildhearts albums (inc. "Don't be Happy...")
  8. I have a Jackson that cost 320 and I got an EMG 81 in the bridge and an 85 in the neck (Zakk Wylde's exact pick ups) and it sounds fucking awesome. Cost me less than 200 and makes the guitar sound like an 800 model... Oh, and go to Neil at Prosound music on Holburn St (right near the malt mill) He does a great job, and is very reasonably priced for Aberdeen.
  9. In the bridge position: EMG 81 for lead, or an EMG 85 or 60 for rhythm. Hetfield uses EMG 60's.
  10. Cheers to all who supported loaded at our first gig in 5 months... enjoyed all the other bands too its just a shame it was against the clock! And thanks Leckie...
  11. You're a bastard though Mac.
  12. So then, who can HONESTLY do it? And I don't mean little rakes here and there, I mean something like this: e---------------------------------------12--h--17--h--12------------------------------------------------ B-------------------------------12------------------------------12---------------------------------------- G------------------------14----------------------------------------------14------------------------------- D------------------14---------------------------------------------------------------14-------------------- A------12----15---------------------------------------------------------------------------15-----12------ E---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  13. Christina Aguilera - Drrty
  14. don't care about mclusky but what an ace title!
  15. This is the first LOADED gig in absolutely ages, and we have G-Dove on loan from hotmangu in the drum stool, so it would be cool to see some people ripping it up!
  16. killswitch engage!!!!!!!!!!!

    Lyrics...

it doesn't matter what the lyrics actually say as long as they rhyme - for example: "His mighty sword that killed the baddies, was like a putter in the hands of caddies" would be really good lyrics cos they rhyme pretty well.
  19. and I never said that you did! What I meant by that, is labelling heartwork as simply 'death metal' is unjust - as that album is just an awesome metal record - but with extreme vocals. Not only is the production so much superior but they introduced melody, musicianship of a high degree and harmonies straigh from a maiden record but in a fresh way. That album is a masterpiece in it's own right, not just a good death metal record.
  20. HEY!! Dechristianise and Mordred, I wasn't referring to you two in my 'real carcass' fan comment, I was meaning the slandering of the album that the critics gave and still give it which I think is unfair - because if an other band had made that record it would have been hailed as being amazing. I would have quoted you if I was meaning you guys...
  21. the swansong stuff was ace Ben - you'd love it. like I said, megadeth meets COC done in the carcass fashion. Although apparently 'real' carcass fans aren't allowed to like "Swansong"
  22. I love Swansong. So what if it's megadeth meets corrosion of conformity meets heartwork... And I meant that in the sense that their early stuff was "grind" and that heartwork is way too classy to be caled simply "death metal"
  23. FUCKING AAAAACE! Even though I'm not really a fan of 'reek' or 'symphonies' it will be pretty cool to have a best of Carcass album - especially as they were my favourite Death metal band of all time - even though they weren't exactly what everyone would call 'death metal'...

    Queers gig...

It could be for show. Or... On the other hand it could be for the fact that I love guitarists like Zakk Wylde and bands like killswitch enagage who both have widdly guitar bits and lots of harmonics.
