i accidently read dying light before cold granite. Luckily, it didn't ruin it really.

dying light is deffinately better, cold granite is pretty good. It's run-of-the-mill crime writing - but it is entertaining and does the job.

i can't imagine anything more painfull and wrong than having a bloke grab your knob and stick a sharp bit of metal into your japs-eye and out the other side of your bell-end.

one day i might get a tattoo. I don't want to be old and still have a minky tattoo. i hear you can get 5 or 10 year tattoos. can i get that at an ordinary tattoo place in aberdeen?

I didn't go last night, and was hoping to hear some feedback on 'art brut'.

My girlfriend has ket me hear them before, and i have to say they were one of the worst things i';ve ever ehad...not music just random talentless noise, talking, and yelping like a jack russel 'we formed a band' indeed. I was of the opinion they were signed BECAUSE they are shit (pretentious arty kids think they are cool - sell records) but having read some reviews in this thread perhaps i'm wrong?! can anyone recomend something of theirs for me to listen to that may change my mind?

i use sonor d-drum at my teachers place (he gets it free as he is endorsed by sonor) and have to say its great....but nothing comes close to what v drums do.

i just need to save up for the td12k it'd really ad something for my new band (see thread in trading post if you are interested)

I never thought the day would come that i said an electrinic drum kit could equal or possibly better acoustic...until 3 weeks ago when i discovered roland v-drums.

in the first instance of the band, it will probably be very little, it is just a style of music that influences us...it's unlikely that'd be something we'd explore...perhaps.

adding electrical elements to the band is something we'd probably look into....but not until we have some structure of a band and some tunes.

Myself and matt from tears of grace are forming a new band.

influences: range from square pusher to 65 days of static to brand new to hot chip to moby, biffy clyro, bloc party, funeral for a friend, nine in nails. metallica, hell is for heroes, muse, underoath, reuben, .....list is endless.

we are looking for a lead guitarist (not necessarily fret wanking solo-style) who can contribute ideas to a song writing process.

we need a commited, ambitious, energetic and enthusiastic player who wants to have fun and write some great music. Would need to willing to practise about 2 times a week and gig.

Our ambition is to form a 'catchy rock band' for want of a better phrase...edgy hardcore type music with hooks and that is catchy yet original and at times complex.

think....65 days of static mixed with funeral for a friend, biffy clyro and bloc party. add poppy band like fall out boy for catchyness.

we have a prospective singer lined up.

oh and we need a bassist too
