going a bit far in your peverseness on the boards dude!
count me in, i'll come along and bring a few mates to this one!
-
70% christina aguilera!!
-
i'm going to see them, can't wait!
this album is truly superb - my fave track is Bald....how awesomely rocking is that song?! The synth solo on girlfriend is sublime too...
definitely a grower of an album though - took a few listens....then again, so did permission to land!
i think this will help knock back the doubters who labelled them as a copycat band.
-
feeble! is originally descended from ducks.
-
Tubthumper's my mother.
-
as a player, he was absolutely superb.
shame about the alcoholism tho...it brought down one of the most gifted sportsmen of all time.
RIP.

All in all' date=' last nights gig was good.Bands went from being totally gash, to amazing.
I'd struggle to recollect a band that I've seen in recent memory who were worse than the 1990s.Editors were good.Surprised I enjoyed some of their stuff.Franz were just immense!
Best bit of the night had to be the three of them playing the drums at once.
Worst would be the arseholes who wouldn't let no-one past them to get closer to the front.[/quote']
1990s were truly awful....
"you're a very nice crowd!"......and you're a very shit band. like a bad kings of leon.
the editors were superb....loved them. great vocals, loved the freak out at the end!
franz ferdinand....great show. so much power, although i felt Take Me Out was a bit lacklustre - maybe they're a bit sick of the song, ala Creep and Radiohead? they did say beforehand they weren't going to play it but did because it was the bassists favourite....
This Fire was so good....perfect way to end the show!
i'll be going to see them again, and the editors if they ever come back.

i'm scott, 20 years old, from buckie originally...moved to aberdeen to go to university, and have been here for three years. i work at debenhams and play bass.
-
I'm interested.....sent you a PM.

The songs are not yet complete and they already sound amazing. When I walked into the studio I was serenaded by the sitar-guitar sounds of The Rolling Stones' Brian Jones. The boys have tracked down the same very rare model made famous by the hugely talented multi-instrumentalist. No sooner was it sent to the studio than Justin had taught himself how to play it and promptly reeled off a massive solo!
a sitar-guitar....?!
-
www.thedarknessrock.com - says its a sitar there, they recorded it on the album with the same one a guy from the rolling stones used i think?
its too early to think....
How can you have a one-way ticket to hell and back?Surely if you are going there AND back' date=' it's a return ticket.
Otherwise it would be a one way ticket to hell. But not back.[/quote']
Day Rover, perhaps?

i never said he dreamt it up regarding the moshulu halloween thing.
i said martins nothing like that as in the anger management crap thing.
-
they guy in question's a good friend of mine.....he's nothing like what you just described.
i dont think a personal attack on martin's quite required...okay, he's not into the whole emo scene or whatever....but saying "i think he has anger management problems" etc is borderline slander.
wisen up.
-
The guy singing Barcelona in the audtions was so bad, he was one of the token "i am the best performer here, yadda yadda" types....i felt sorry BEFORE he did his bit....they always build them up to be such fucking losers....
...wait a minute...

Tell me about it! I work in Debenhams' date=' can either be great fun, a piss about or serioulsy hard work. Although Time and a half on sundays, going up to triple or more time on special days (new year, xmas eve, boxing day).
Woop.[/quote']
aha, so do i!
i work as a merchandiser for debenhams, 6-10 sat n sun nights....i also do the loading bay 9-2 sat n sun mornings.
good pay, work's a bit of a laugh....can't complain
we get paid THAT much on special days? fuck me....
-
i did think they were excellent first time round....
-
how can he surpass playing the solo to Love On The Rocks on the back of a tiger?
on the back of a dolphin, maybe
-
awesome song, the sitar solo is genius!
'course we're meant to take them seriously...got my ticket for the SECC next year:D
-
okay' date=' as far as i am aware, "I'm Not Okay" needed a re-release before anyone actually gave a fuck. in my book, that's saying something about a band like My Chemical Romance...[/quote']
there's nothing wrong with re-releasing songs....i mean for example, Interpol re-releasing Slow Hands......Muse re-releasing Muscle Museum.....Snow Patrol re-releasing Spitting Games....
all excellent bands and excellent songs.....but being honest i don't know why they do it.
-
shame to hear that about exile, guess the running costs took their toll? or can mark just not be bothered going all the way to the harbour
?
it was a great wee studio, had a lot of character for essentially being a shed. RIP exile.

"In Love" is a great song, but it reminds me far too much of "Burn"" by Deep Purple....
not necc a bad thing, i guess
