  1. Oooft. Seen quite a few through years of slogging through festivals - a few of the "legends" include: Rob Zombie Marilyn Manson Metallica Iron Maiden Green Day (finally saw them right as they released American Idiot, so they opened the set with American Idiot then it was 2 1/2 hours of their GOOD stuff, even threw in some of the weird shit from Insomniac too which I fucking LOVED) Iggy & The Stooges NOFX Rancid The Lurkers Blink 182 (Huge influence growing up, but they sucked out loud live. I also saw them post-reform which meant the set was pretty cack if I'm honest. Most disappointing show I've ever been to, actually.) Pixies Smashing Pumpkins UK Subs (I was lucky enough to land support slots when these guys played drummonds - fuck yeah!) Sham 69 (These guys too) Stiff Little Fingers (And these guys, in 'Shulu/Warehouse) Alkaline Trio (one of my all-time favourite bands, seen them more times than I can remember - fucking amazing every time.) Probably some more that I'm forgetting to be honest! So many years at Leeds Fest plus a few other scattered festivals, and my memory sucks at the best of times! xx

  3. Also, the Daily Mail fucking hated the movie, so that's another reason to watch it! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2391071/Kick-Ass-2-review-Jim-Carrey-Chloe-Moretz-star-orgy-moronic-super-hero-violence.html xx
  4. He is. He totally is. But I never expect him to be as amazing as he is... if that makes any sense? xx
  5. Kick-Ass 2 Loved it. Great violence, some awesome deaths. Jim Carrey surprised me with how amazing he was. It's totally over-the-top, ridiculous fun. Watch it. 5/5 xx
  6. Someone needs to buy that G&L bass before I do. It's an absolute blessing to play and sounds amazing. xx
  7. Friend of mine got his skull fractured at work and has been signed off for 26 weeks (despite fucking begging to get back to work). He's now on statutory sick, so presumably it is just a matter of having a set number of days you get at full pay...? xx
  8. Cunts posting pictures of spiders on facebook. Cunts. xx
  9. This thread has me in tears. Actual tears. I am so happy. YoungA - you are the fucking man. Where the fuck do you work? And you say Korma is better with salt instead of sugar.. please tell me it's not half a ladle of fucking salt!? Also, how big is this measuring ladle? Please, please post a picture! xx

  12. Out of approx. 7 billion Scots, 6.96 billion are from other countries. xx
  13. This is interesting - because I think there's one rule in a live performance - to perform live! In Needleman we use some double-tracked guitars for harmonies and all that jazz but since we only have one guitarist then that stuff gets altered to suit a live scenario - but Needleman's music is comparatively very very simple. xx
  14. What do you play in Stanley? Personally I'm of a similar opinion to Neepheid - if you don't have a string section then don't write songs that require a sting section. xx
  15. What're everyone's thoughts on this? Is it a perfectly normal/acceptable thing to do? Or does it detract from the live experience? Personally, I'm of the opinion that when you're performing live you should be making as many of the noises as possible so I always feel a little cheated when a band are playing with samples and all that jazz - it seems to be moving away from live performance towards miming, but I'm aware that for some styles of music you simply CAN'T produce all of these sounds live. Can you really call yourself a musician if all you're doing is pressing "play" on a bunch of stuff? What about DJs? Is a DJ any less of an artist than a singer-songwriter? Is there such a thing as a "live DJ"? Just curious if anyone has any particularly strong feelings on the subject? xx
  16. I thought neg repping that would be funny. That's why I neg repped. xx
