Dan G
Don't worry - it's not a fight! After the banter I have been involved in over the last few weeks has subsided slightly now - I thought I would consider what power metal albums I have actually bought over the years. Here's the ones I can remember:Are 54 - No Visable ScarsArea 54 - Beckoning Of The EndBal Sagoth - Battle Magic Children Of Bodom - HatebreederChlidren Of Bodom - Chlidren Of Bodom - Hatecrew Death RollDemons And Wizards - Demons And Wizards Gamma Ray - No World OrderHelloween - Keeper Of TheSeven Keys Part II*Helloween - Better Than RawIced Earth - Iced EarthIced Earth - Night Of The Storm RiderIced Earth - Burnt OfferingsIced Earth - Days Of PurgatoryIced Earth - Dark Saga*Iced Earth - Something Wicked This Way Comes*Iced Earth - Horror ShowIced Earth - The Glorious BurdenNightwish - WishmasterNightwish - Century ChildNightwish - OncePrimal Fear - Black SunStratovarius - Elements Part ISymphony X - The Divine Wings Of TragedySymphony X - VSymphony X - The Odyssey*Three Inches Of Blood - Battlecry Under A Winter Sun Threshold - Critical MassThreshold - Critical Energy1998 was a great year for me and power metal, and as you can tell, I used to like Iced Earth! Anyway...What power metal albums do you own? Any ones you are particularly proud or ashamed of?And don't be dirty: downloading doesn't count - they have to be REAL copies. I haven't included stuff like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden - who some people might say were.* denotes particularly good power metal album

Not bad... but give me a few mins to piece together mine [/quote'] All the iced earth ones are the original American releases too... not the British reissues (although the reisuues actually have the cooler artwork, done by Travis Smith I think)I'll have to level with you though, I don't think too much of the Stratovarius one, or Glorius Burden. Also the day I bought Demons and Wizards I listed to the first proper song (Heaven Denies) and loved it! But then I heard the rest of the album and was a bit gutted...especially stuff like Fiddler On The Green. However, people will rip me for Bal Sagoth but I love that album

They supported BS on their last tour, they play fantasy metal with dozens of effects pedals and 1120bpm drumming. I know their live drummer too, I may need lessons from him...... Demon's & Wizards... BLood on my Hands is awesome, also Fidldler on the Green is the best ballad ever written ever (about a girl who died, some sort of car accident i think). Willum
I have no shame in saying I fookin' love TGB. I have two other IE albums, but don't like them as much. They have some awesome songs, but quite a few average ones.I'd love to see them live though. I have a bootleg from last year's tour, they only played thier really good songs (the ones I've heard anyway) and Ripper makes them even better. They didn't play The Reckoning though but they did the whole of Gettusburg as an encore so that made up for it

Dan G
Maybe it's just when I got into Iced Earth, but Dark Saga and Something Wicked will always be easily my favourite two albums by them!I had this song ages ago called 'Storming Across Heaven' by DragonLAND... it had some good moments, but also some uber fromage. Dont' know if you've heard much by them?(I think I've quoted the lyrics here before)
