french_disko
why oh why is this kind of story still allowed to appear in the media before the trial.AKMI suppose because it's fact - he's been arrested on "suspicion" only. He hasn't been charged which would be a different matter altogether.
AKMartin
He's still going to be tarred with the "rapist" brush until proven innocent.(it remains to be seen if he IS innocent)AKM
Hog
why oh why is this kind of story still allowed to appear in the media before the trial.AKMTotally agree, it is terrible. The irony is that the law states "you are innocent until proven guilty" but the press are allowed to make up their own mind
PaulDW
My feeling just now.. given the record the last couple of years of people crying rape on premiership footballers, with no real basis of truth, that this is exactly the same... However, I am sure if I am wrong the press will be letting us know.

AKMartin
Putting "Cristiano Ronaldo", "rape" and "serious sexual assault" into a leading article is going to affect the player's reputation and (obviously) his treatment by opposition fans, regardless of the circumstances of the case. I personally don't think that's fair.AKM
