Alan Cynic
I've just finished my new album...called 'Distant Voices, Distant Songs'.......all the songs have some local connection, and the subjects covered include the old BBC radio station in Belmont St, 1940s prostitutes, grumpy mannies in string vests, music hall entertainers, an open-air dentist in the Castlegate who pulled teeth by hand, etc etc.I'm putting 5 copies into the Cavern tomorrow, if anyone's interested....5 quid each (17 tracks in all....never mind the quality, blah blah blah)
ragudave
Who are the grumpy mannies in string vests Alan? Anyone we know?So do you never sleep or do you just write songs in your sleep?I suppose the days of the travelling open air dentists may come back given the apparent dental crisis in 21 st century Scotland...cheers,Dave
Alan Cynic
It's an even grumpier mannie than me, Dave, but nobody in particular! One of these days I'll opt for quality over quantity, songwise.....maybe.Hows about dentists dotting around in vans, like ice-cream vans and chippers? Or they could be combined...you could get a white pudding supper and a filling while you wait.
ragudave
How about heart surgeons with their own wee van that also sells black puddings?Mobile dentists sounds like a great idea. Well they have mobile libraries, cinemas and banks in rural areas so why not!
