Dizzy Storm
thought i'd repost this to save any confusion over venue.....for those of you who came down to Drummonds back in march to catch DYSE from germany, only to discover one of them was so ill that he couldnt perform...thus forcing Andre, (guitarist/vocals) to improvise amazingly on his own with his guitar/voice and basic drum set up....well he returns in October with his 'other' band VOLT...an amazing noiserock trio hailing from Chemnitz, Germany...on the Exile on Mainstream label run by Andreas Khol, Southern Records german repThink Melvins, Jesus Lizard, Fantomas, Surgery to give you some idea as to what Volt sound like. Volt are an extremely proficient, tight band with an amazing live performance. They have previously performed under the name Roerhedds, and their live appearances include some biggies such as the With Full Force festival and a full European tour with Noxagt. they released the romeo ko ep in october last year and their new album RORHAT was released here on 1st septemberreview from London Garage performance last year with Noxagt..."Theres a tremendous sense of urgency and abandon - notes arent so much played as beaten remorselessly but a near constant bedrock of furiously distorted grooves keeps my head nodding throughout. As they bring the set to a room-rattling close with an enormous extended chugfest, I struggle to think of a way to end this review without reaching for a shitty pun about electricity. So how about I just keep it simple? Volt are great. Shockingly great." live review at southern.com Volt @ Garage, London, 14th of october 2005go listen at www.myspace.com/voltnoisesupport from the amazing TAKE A WORM FOR A WALK WEEK who have just returned blazing from a wee jaunt round the uk where they ripped peoples expectations and faces apart.. debut album Notes From A Dirty Old Man to be released by Midmarch Records , strings of dates over the next couple of months and next uk tour for december is in the planningwww.myspace.com/takeawormsupport also comes from edinburgh's mighty ZILLAH. expect a blistering assault influenced by Mastodon, Keelhaul, Meshuggah, Neurosis, No Means No, Slayer to name a few. all i have to say is go listen to The Ghost That Walks from their new album Substitute For Catastrophe on their myspace... amazing. will be a welcome return, its been a while...www.myspace.com/zillahnoisemore tbcSAT 7TH OCTNO 17 (above The Portals)THE CASTLEGATEDOORS 8PM4

Dizzy Storm
and for anyone's that a bit unsure about the venue...whereabouts/what the hell it is (!).....NO 17 (as its called) is above a pub called The Portals...so basically its a function room that we're puting a PA into a la East Neuk stylee!! if you're looking at the Castlegate from Union Street side, its over on the left...just beside the Peacock Visual Art entrance...you will see a NO 17 sign...its a blue door (which is always open anyway) just inside the doorway are some stairs...go up those...and you're there...and there we'll take 4 off of you!! dont be scared...they sell glittery cowboy hats and tiaras behind the bar...and last gig there we were 3.60 for 2 vodka and cokes. yay!
