JJ 10 Easy Wishes
i need to fly from gatwick mid august, but only want to go for like 3 days to somewhere decent. Last-minute.com isn't actually that great as far as i know, but do any of you have any recommended ways to get a good not too expensive holiday somewhere sunny? Stichman
I'm in Budapest just now, and it's quality. It's very hot - 35C today. There is so much to do, whatever you're into. Castles, markets and some ideal Turkish baths. And it's cheap. Under 1 a pint if you know where to go, and your average bottle of local beer is 30p from a newsagent. Which is nice. I've been to a couple of quality bars and clubs too. Slovenia was much the same story.Ryanair and Wizzair are ideal for cheap flights to Eastern Europe and you can get a room in a hostel for bollocks. Recommended. Cloud
Don't bother with Lastminute.com or the like, none of them are actually that much good for inclusive package deals.Best bet is to do something like Stichman says - but as you're flying from Gatwick, then Easyjet is the best airline from there. Best bet is just to book the flights through them, then look online (lastminute.com is quite good for hotel only deals - as are most tour operators websites such as thomascook.com) and get a decent/cheap hotel that way. I'd recommend not bothering with Western Europe and go further afield, though be careful - some tourist hotspots like Dubvronik can be pricey.Having a quick look at Easyjet Gatwick flights, you could probably have a fantastic (and warm!) time in Marrakesh (Morocco), Palermo (Sicily) or Split (Croatia). If you want somewhere cooler, then La Rochelle would be a good destination, though France in August is probably a pricey prospect. Apart from that, Almeria in Spain is up and coming, yet relatively undeveloped and probably quite cheap for 3 days.
Hog
Last-minute.com is mince. Why pay a middleman when you Im sure your more than capable to DIY. As Cloud already pointed out Easyjet is good (although watch out for the sneaky adds on they try to include). Wizzair is very good for Eastern Europe.
