KimyReizeger
How's the study going? I can't get into mine at all; every day for the past two weeks has just merged into a forgotten nothingness. I have been trying but keep going off on interesting but contextually useless tangents. The concept of working-to-exams is dull and essentially useless when it comes to learning anything.
Murrr
My schedule has been pretty savage thus far... yesterday I had Legal System and Microeconomics with just a 1 hour gap between 'em, and this morning I had Management. I've got Criminal Law on Friday at 9am and that's me done, thank god.I'm with you on the whole revision thing; I'm absolutely terrible at it. Still, having all four of my exams in such a condensed period kind of forced me to get off my arse a little earlier this time round.
KimyReizeger
Yeah, mine are right beside each other aswell. Sit the one on Monday which will be hard then probs be at a loss for revision time regarding the tuesday one. It's ok though - Victorian literature: piece of piss really. Mouse
It's total crap. My last one is Friday. Quite easy but I'm just tired of studying. I've been out twice this year since new year
Bodast
I don't have exams, just loads of homework (four essays in six days, ffs), and since I tend to waste the evenings online, I've been up til four or so every night since Friday. aggghhh. However, no exams til 2010 which maybe makes up for it.
KimyReizeger
Bodast, what university are you at?
Stichman
I spent the day trying to read a paper about the 'Lithification of Silicic Sediments', before deciding it would be much more exciting to try and build a really tall pile made up of 1cm pieces of paper. I got up to about 10cm before some fat medic knocked my desk. I was pretty pissed off.
Bodast
Bodast, what university are you at?Oxford.. Which I guess means I asked for it _
scottyboy
i haven't got exams this year, it's ace (should hopefully mean my marks are a bit better as well). i agree exams are a crap way of assessing people, but maybe i'm just bitter cause i'm better at essays than exams (assuming i can hand them in on time). HateEvent
Just got the one left to do - Mechanics Of Solids.Friday night is going to be hellish.
KarmaTsunami
No exams...but I had about a bazillion words to hand in for this past Monday which I managed. The poetry and the criticism on it went fine, I THINK. The Victorian Novel essay went pretty well, and the Derrida/Plato one....well....I'll see.. KimyReizeger
Oxford.. Which I guess means I asked for it _Ah. You like it there?
KimyReizeger
Shit. I can't believe how little I'm getting done. I want to, just can't. I have chunks of old scots zipping around in my mind. Pesky little alliterative clauses.. I wish there were only three years and not four. calum
First one's on Friday. Nae really started studying yet. As always, everything seems more attractive than the books. I foresee late nights and other such student-y cliches.
KimyReizeger
It's not the reading that bothers me. On the contrary, my face feels like it's peeling off from reading. It's all the mindless shit: memorising things, planning things, organising things. Exam culture is a curse. The way they mark these things, by altering the pass marks in accordance with performance levels, giving set questions to 'work towards': nobody learns a goddamn thing. calum
Any other time I'd probably love the reading; but doing it in limited time and for a specific purpose I find difficult. I find doing anything with a purpose difficult really.
Bodast
Ah. You like it there?Yeah.. I don't like Oxford too much as a town and there are quite a lot of idiots around, but every uni is like that I guess, and it is a nice place to study. Plus I love having uni and home lives completely separate Just got the one left to do - Mechanics Of Solids.Haha, I read that as Mechanics of Souls Thought it was a philosophy module or something... Sue Denim..
These exams really stress me out. My other half has exams at the moment and she's spent so much time revising that she hasn't had a chance to clean the house yet. Fucking nightmare. Cloud
Mine don't start until the 28th, and I think everyone in my uni spectacularly can't be arsed because of their complete inability to come up with a final timetable.
