fatboy
Nil by Mouththe one and only film directed by gary oldman funny enoughhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119792/gritty late 90's film with ray winston, kathy burke and Mo from eastenders, Lots of violence, pregnant wife beating, junkies and alcoholism. Like "this is England" then you'll love this!
Soda Jerk
CyrusStarring the odd looking one from Will Ferrell films, John C Reilly, and that fat kid from a bunch of teen-comedy films, Jonah Hill. The former starts dating some lady. She has a son, played by the latter. He comes off as being super nice and accepting of the new guy, but it turns out he's been doing some sly, passive aggressive stuff along the way. It felt like it took about an hour at the very least to really get into the premise, and once it did, it was quite underwhelming. It really drags along, where as I expected it to be more in-your-face I HATE YOU like Step Brothers or something. Pretty awful film. Nothing ever happens. Jaaakkkeee
See I liked the whole "nothing really happens" type of thing. It did drag a bit but I enjoyed it. The guy wasn't some sort of master criminal and he wasn't Macauly Culkin so he wasn't going to set no traps or shit, he was just being a little bastard and it was funny.I saw Green Hornet - alright, it was good but obviously far too heavily scripted for Seth Rogen.Boyz N The Hood - really good. Best film I've seen in a long time. That Cuba Gooding Jr canna half greet though.I fell asleep halfway through Your Highness. Was pretty funny. I hope to see the end some time. Soda Jerk
It had no gags, or anything funny happening at all for the first hour. It just spent that entire hour explaining the premise, which was a simple premise anyway. I really couldn't wait for it to end. I like the two stars in most things they've done, but that was pretty mince.
Chris
The GuardWhile it doesn't hit the heady heights of In Bruges this is a brilliantly dark comedy from the brother of the In Bruges director. Brendon Gleeson is immense. Revelling in the character of an unorthodox Irish policeman matched with a stereotypically straightlaced FBI agent. Great turns from the 3 bad guys as well. Attack The BlockMaybe not the brilliant film it was hyped as but it's a decent horror/siege flick. The kids are brilliant in it, the violence is pitched about right compared to the over the top brit gang violence in say Harry Brown and there's plenty of genuine LOL moments. Nick Frost playing Nick Frost for the umpteenth film in a row is the lowest point. Could have done without him to be honest.

Chris
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, SpyMy fiance said it's the most boring film she's ever seen. Now I admit it's painfully slow at times but I still enjoyed it. Nice to see a proper, serious spy drama instead of James Bond or Jason Bourne. The cast is immense and the sense of era that the director creates is brilliant. Just make sure you watch it with someone who can concentrate for 2 hours so you don't have to keep pausing for a recap.
The Milner
I watched "Knocked Up" last night, seen it plenty of times before like, but still a good fun film to watch.
Jaaakkkeee
I saw bits I had never seen before. Not extended scenes, just wee bits I missed. Like Leslie Mann looking Seth Rogen up and down in the club and the look on her face. Brilliant.
Paranoid Android
In the last few days I've watchedThe Hangover - very fun and entertaining but not as laugh out loud hilarious as I'd been told.Kick Ass - actually only saw the second half of this which I enjoyed and I'll probably go back and watch the whole thing.Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels - Should probably have seen this before now, really good. Got Snatch downloaded to watch now too.Ace Ventura - Seen this loads of times, still awesome.Biutiful - Saw this in a cinema yesterday without knowing much about it. I could tell it was very good and Bardem is excellent in it but it really was far too long, slow, dark and serious for the mood I was in at the time. I think I nodded off at one stage in the middle, my Spanish brain wasn't really in good shape either.
The Milner
Snatch is brilliant but i prefer lock stock, britain makes the best gangster films.
Paranoid Android
Better than The Godfather, Scarface, Goodfellas etc? I'm assuming Scarface is a gangster film, I've never seen it.
Spoonie
Ace Ventura is an absolute belter of a film. So quoteable and so stupid. "I'm looking far Ray Finkle...and a clean pair of shorts"
Spoonie
Scarface is dynamite too. I watched that every day for two weeks. Brutal stuff!
The Milner
I personally think so, The Godfather is great but long, Scareface is really good as well as is Casino and Goodfellas, i just think the British ones have a bit more edge to them, maybe its just the accents and being able to relate slightly more to them than the American ones. Snatch and Lock Stock are two of my all time fav films.
Chris
What about The Long Good Friday? Awesome gangster film. Thankfully not heard much about the proposed remake which switches it from London docklands to Miami...
Spoonie
Most of the American gangster films mentioned mirror major aspects of my life.
