kirsten
The Room is on at the Belmont again. Fa's gan?The first and second time I went to see it at the cinema, it was awesome. The third time it was ruined by wankers chatting all the way through it rather than joining in with the communal chanting. Everyone should get a laminated copy of the rules to read before the film starts or else it's just unfunny. Vowed I'd never go again. Cool story, me.Recently I watched Annie Hall for the first time in years. Forgot how good it was, pretty much every line is great. I had completely forgotten about this bit, amazingly... The Devil and Daniel JohnstonI've been a fan of his for a good few years now but had still never actually watched the film. Obviously some of the stories are legendary, but I imagined they were exaggerated before seeing this revealed them to be 100% true. It's beautifully shot, using the old Super 8 footage. I'm so glad that he recorded so much of his life so it could be included and not just spoken about. It was sad and seemed almost like fiction. Now onto Rear Window again for nostalgic purposes. Not my favourite Hitchcock film, but still a good'un.

kirsten
Half Japanese: The Band That Would Be KingGood band, good documentary. I kept hearing that this was a really funny film and that if you didn't know Half Japanese were a real band, you'd think it was Spinal Tap II. This isn't true, it's not that funny, just pleasant. The only person who comes across as douchey in it is the music critic Byron Coley. Everybody else in it just appears to be sweet and naive and you do find yourself rooting for them the whole way through. Essentially a film about some lovely, dorky kids who can't really play any instruments but turn out to become a brilliant, but horrendously underrated band. 10/10!!!
Stroopy121
I just came on to post that I'd re-watched Annie Hall at the weekend. Fucking love it.xx
Jaaakkkeee
Thor - Portman ruined it. She obviously had to ring her knickers oot when Thor turns back in to Thor at the end and although her faces were sexy. It made what was an good film just, alright. The A-Team (new een) - Better than Thor. Good Saturday afternoon viewing. Went well with the pizza. Would reccommend. Soda Jerk
Toy Story 1 & 2Unparalleled. Best films. I've got #3 too, but didn't watch that recently. The first one is great because Buzz Lightyear is a total shitbag. The second one gets better when imposter Buzz comes along, and he's a shitbag too. Tom Hanks is the man. Hamm is my favourite though. The bit where Mr Potato Head falls over and is dismantled and Hamm just laughs at him just cripples me.Fight ClubBetter than the book, because the book is a bit shite. Norton and Pitt are both pretty great and manage to give the story much more conviction than the book ever did. Aesthetically it's very good too. Everything is so turgid, filthy and dark. Oh, and there's fighting and shit. And a big breasted Meat Loaf. It's got it all. Good film. They successfully managed to polish a turd. Lemonade
ETNever seen this before. It was quite good. He looks like a little turd with a face.****The Silence Of The LambsReal heavyweight performance from Hopkins. Love watching the mental sparring between Lecter and Starling. It's aged badly but still great.*****
paime
I personally think so, The Godfather is great but long, Scareface is really good as well as is Casino and Goodfellas, i just think the British ones have a bit more edge to them, maybe its just the accents and being able to relate slightly more to them than the American ones. Snatch and Lock Stock are two of my all time fav films.**standard issue discussion alert**How would you rate each of the Godfather trilogy? For me it's in order with the first one being the best and the third being the worst.Lucky - i am eternally grateful for you selling me the Godfather DVDs, hungover Sundays wouldn't be the same without them. I saw the first one, it was good, but never got round to watching the other ones.

Soda Jerk
2, 1, 3. I can still watch 3, but it's a bit weird. I do love all the films though. They are perfect. They are quite long, but it's such a detailed and well written story. Aesthetically it all looks beautiful, and comes across so much more authentic than most gangster films, and isn't OTT with wall to wall violence.I also love Goodfellas because Joe Pesci is fucking mental and just so dangerous. Joe Pesci is awesome.
Jaaakkkeee
I seem to like tv a lot more. Especially catching up on tv so I can spend days watching stuff.
The Milner
Joe Pesci was brilliant before Lethal Weapon came around. Now he is just a shit comedy actor, shoulda stayed in roles where he got to stab people in the neck with pens.
Soda Jerk
He's good in everything, including Home Alone. I've never seen past Lethal Weapon 2 though. Also, Goodfellas came out after Lethal Weapon 2 (he wasn't in 1)
Paranoid Android
After enjoying Lock Stock, I watched Snatch the other day. Top Stuff.Sometimes I really don't understand how it takes me so long to see some good films. I remember someone lending me Snatch on VHS about 6 years ago and not bothering to watch it. What a fool. Soda Jerk
2 is still great. It's 3 onwards that ruined it. Different cast? Get to fuck. Should still have been McCauley Culkin, even if, by that age, he was old enough to be home on his own anyway.Alot of people don't seem to know that there was also a Home Alone 4. It's got Harry from 3rd Rock from the Sun in it. What a terrible fall from grace.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Alone_4And next Christmas there will be a Home Alone 5, apparently

An elderly Culkin struggles with loneliness as he lives in the big family home all alone. He decided to hire a couple of out of work actors to pretend to be thieves and he can relive the glory days of his youth. But what will happen when the actors discover something that they actually do want to steal..........I should work in Hollywood.
