Old Gold
I got through the first 2 seasons so quickly as well. I even managed a second watch of them all not long after. Such an addictive show. And after spending a lot of time watching 45min-1hr episode of serious dramas those 20 min episodes just fly by.Yeah! It's beautifully paced too, and the chemistry among the group makes for effortless viewing.Series 2 is downloading. I might as well kiss most of tomorrow goodbye. Paranoid Android
It's the sort of show that really works with binge viewing too. When you're going through so many episodes it doesn't bother you so much when one doesn't have as many lol moments.I assume you loved the Mafia chicken and paintball episodes. Old Gold
I think just one a week would kill me. The paintball one had me damn near jumping around the living room with joy.
ca_gere
For any Parks & Rec fans : http://entertainment720.com/what-we-do/#item=175506The current sit-com hierarchy goes like this imo:1) The Office2) Parks & Rec3) Community (It's good, real good. I just think it tries too hard sometimes)Recently rinsed my way through reno 911 - a lot funnier than I expected.Have also reached the end of The Wire season 1 with the gf. She's hooked, which pleases me. She keeps referencing it when we're out and about and has started making plans around watching episodes rather than squeezing one or two in when we can. This one's a keeper!
Soda Jerk
Girls that like TV shows that aren't soaps or involve Gok Wan are true keepers.
Soda Jerk
Oh, and Reno 911 is awesome. Definitely something that got better as they went along, but then got worse. It peaked around Season 3-4, is what I'm trying to say.
ca_gere
Trailer Park Boys anyone?Someone gave me a shot of the 1-5 boxset ages ago. Just remembered the show. Fucking magic. More people should watch it.
Soda Jerk
I have Season 1 and 2, and I really wanted to like it, but just couldn't. I should probably give it more of a chance, because it is raved about, and is probably something I should like. I say the same thing about Parks and Rec too though. ca_gere
I think there's a difference between parks & Rec, Trailer park boys and Community. As much as the characters in Community are well rounded, it's still got that set-up + punchline vibe to a lot of it. I mean, the lines are funny but a lot of the script could be regurgitated by any of the characters and be just as funny. The other two shows are all about the characters, there aren't many actual jokes. Seinfeld, Curb, all the greats I like are more like that. I think The US Office strikes a good balance between laugh out loud punch lines and nuanced character stuff.
Paranoid Android
I've been watching parks and rec lately. I'm on to season 3 right now. It's good and it has definitely got better as it's gone on but it hasn't hooked me nearly as much as community did. However both still rank way below Curb as best current comedy. Paranoid Android
After the first episode season 4 treads quite slowly for a few episodes setting up the main plots for the season. It's still good but somewhere around episode 6 it really picks up. I'm not sure I really agree with your idea of the pattern but I definitely don't see this season following that. Jaaakkkeee
Okay that's cool. I don't think it's an intended pattern just something i was worried might go on a little too long.oh and also, Gale difinitely did not deserve to die, i felt incredibly horrible when jesse went to his appartment with the gun.I think that's the great thing though.it was such a shame for such a nice guy to die, made you be all like "oh my god walter you evil fucker" but at the same time you understand why he did it. And it opened up the storyline for Jesse at the start of this season too.
Adam Easy Wishes
Holy fuck the most recent Breaking Bad is incredible. Such good television! Thankfully I had three to catch up on so I got a decent fix today. Amazing stuff.
Jaaakkkeee
My ps3 disconnected from the media server when I was watching last weeks one and I haven't been bothered to watch it again. But I'll really need to.
Paranoid Android
I'm starting to rethink my position on Parks & Rec vs Community at least on how they are at the current moment. Season 3 of P+R was absolutely brilliant and I've caught up now and 4 has started on the same level. Community this season has yet to have a really good episode.
Jaaakkkeee
More to download today though! This weeks office looks absolutely fantastic. Can't wait. And the new family guy should be the cross over one this week so looking forward to that. Then of course Idiot Abroad at 9 tonight. Ace. Paranoid Android
I've already watched last night's episodes. Parks was a lot better. And I don't watch the office and Family Guy can just fuck off.
Jaaakkkeee
You should really watch the office. Great for watching for hours on end too so you should get through the first 7 seasons quite quick.
Paranoid Android
I might sometime. I've seen two episodes but they didn't do much for me. Although one of them was the pilot where they just badly copy the UK one which I know isn't an indication of what it becomes.I've heard that it is great in seasons 2 and 3 but then becomes shit but everyone here seems to still love it. Jaaakkkeee
I've loved it every step of the way like. Season 1 is quite... "meh" if you've seen the British one, apparently. I haven't watched it so I went in to season 1 not knowing what to expect and loved it. I'd happily say it's the funniest sitcom I've seen. Paranoid Android
The British one is only behind The Simpsons for me in terms of all time favourite comedies. Every single moment is perfect. Gervais can be as much of an annoying twat as he wants, I'll always like him because he was responsible for this.I'll give the US one a go if you watch the UK series.
