Jaaakkkeee
So that's 6 albums in total? Cool, nae too bad then.
Soda Jerk
8. The one before the new one, Axe To Fall, is probably only worth getting if you become a fanboy. I think it's a bit meh, so it's great that this new record is a proper return to form. Also, the first album, Halo in a Haystack, can be avoided. It's pretty rough. Jaaakkkeee
8?I'm the kind of guy who will buy it, just so i have them all.
Woodsinho
I think No Heroes is my favourite. Mostly for Sacrifice and Grim Heart/Black Rose with a special mention for the dirtiest sounding guitars on Plague.
Soda Jerk
8 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Converge_discographyI think Halo in a Haystack is long OOP. They probably won't re-release it. It's ropey at best.I haven't listened to No Heroes in a long long time. I should give it another go.
Flights
Start with Jane Doe and You Fail Me. Still shocked you'd never listened to Converge. Next you will be saying you haven't heard of Botch or something Botch, what a band.
Paranoid Android
I can't believe you've never heard Converge.Kinda like an opposite hipster. I thought EVERYONE with even a slight interest in hardcore would have heard Converge.Even I know who they are!!!I listened to a bit of that new album. Silly mistake.
Jaaakkkeee
I still can't get over how ace-ic the new The Chariot album is.
Flights
For people that care my lengthy strat restoration is almost complete. It's going away to get wired tomorrow. The thought of having two guitars again is ace-ic.
Jaaakkkeee
I would have wired it for you for free x

Flights
Is that the one you were going to put P90's in, like a guitar god, but then changed your mind, like a shit bastard?Haha yeah it is. There's still plenty time for a single P90 strat though.
Soda Jerk
Haha yeah it is. There's still plenty time for a single P90 strat though.I'm tempted to give it a go in the new year. Probably just buy a fat strat with a HSS set up, get rid of everything in it, and put in a HB sized humbucker and one volume knob. It would probably just end up looking like that Blink182 signature Strat, but without the dogshit Invader pickup in it.

It's lovely guitar to play but the sound is horrible. Piercing high end and well too bright for me. That guitar is kinda the reason I opted out of the single pickup idea. Soda Jerk
Isn't that more down to the SD Invader in the bridge? They are a bit top heavy with the treble. P90's are all about warmth and mids, but still retaining the twannnnng. Perfect combo!
Flights
I've just looked it up online and apparently in those Tom Delonge strats they used a neck Invader pickup in the bridge position. Punk as fuck.
Sam 45
Does anyone remember Stoneywood indoor skate park? it was next to Kart Start. That place was ace-ic.

Flights
Aren't neck pickups the same, but usually lower output? It varies I think, some pickups are designed for specific placement.
Soda Jerk
I read once that Dimebag used to use those twin blade pickups upside down. Not sure what difference that would have made, as I don't know enough about pickups. I'm sure he knew what he was doing, except for his fondness of solid state amps. Flights
He got holy tone out of those amps though.I can't imagine flipping those pickups would make much difference really.

HateEvent
Aren't neck pickups the same, but usually lower output? If the pickups have poles rather than blades then you'll notice that the spacing between them on the neck pickup is different to that of the bridge pickup. The internals can also be different like you suggest, yielding different output characteristics.Regarding Dime flipping his Bill Lawrence (& in latter days the Dimebucker), it would reposition the hotter blade, giving a different sound. I don't know how much of a difference there is with the 2 blades though. In saying that, I do have a Dime guitar with said BL pickup so I may try it and see if there is actually any noticeable change.
Teabags
except for his fondness of solid state amps. With his tone, he's allowed to use any fucking amp he wanted. Awesome tone, instantly recognisable.
