Chris
The most embarrassing reason for a star above a club badge. I hate explaining that one to non-Dons fans. Still, the only Scottish club with TWO European trophies. :OAh but the star for the super cup isn't really about the cup itself, it's there to wind up old firm fans and remind them that they only have one European trophy. Adam Easy Wishes
So Rooney's new bird has Aberdeen links. I wonder if she's a Dons fan...Jennifer Thompson was born in Aberdeen' date=' where her father was a key player in the oil industry. Her mother Danuta comes from a Polish family and is a devout Roman Catholic. The family moved to Qatar in the 1990s. Mr Thompson, 55, works for the oil firm Petro-Canada as its senior completion and well test engineer. Guest Gladstone
Ah but the star for the super cup isn't really about the cup itself, it's there to wind up old firm fans and remind them that they only have one European trophy.Doesn't wind me up in the slightest. If Celtic had won a Super Cup, I'd want the second star there. Fucking right. What does annoy me though is the Huns having 5 stars. Fuck off. If we used the same rules, Celtic would also have 5 stars, but that would deem our one star pretty meaningless, and then Rangers would just give themselves 6 stars which is stupid.Rangers should have 1 star, Celtic should have 1 star and Aberdeen should have 2 stars. Saying all that, we should actually have 2 stars if the cheating Argentinians hadn't done us out of the World Club trophy back in 67/68 (forget which year it took place)... Adam Easy Wishes
There's a good Wikipedia article on the stars on jerseys/crests and what they mean in various countries.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_(football_crest)
Paranoid Android
I actually think Rangers have the best use of stars on their shirts. That's really because I got used to the idea watching football italia back in the day. I've never liked the 2 stars on the dons shirts. Soda Jerk
So Rooney's new bird has Aberdeen links. I wonder if she's a Dons fan...What turned Jennifer Thompson into Wayne Rooney's 1,200-a-night escort? | Mail OnlineAh, that's good. Perhaps there'll be more Man United fans in Aberdeen as a result. Aberdeen definitely needs more Man United fans. Not that I have a problem with Man United fans. There's just alot here. Chelsea too.
Paranoid Android
Is there really a lot of Chelsea fans in Aberdeen? When I was still living in Aberdeen I always felt like I was going against the crowd if I cheered a Chelsea goal in a pub.Maybe Carlo's goaltastic football has won over a lot of new fans. Soda Jerk
I see alot of Chelsea shirts about. I don't know if that constitutes as a fan, but there's alot. There's an increasing amount of Man City shirts now too. I'm sure they were wearing Arsenal shirts in the early 00's.

Guest Gladstone
Yep - 4pm kick off, though, otherwise I might have considered going.Fuck, if I'd known that earlier I might well have skulked off early, watched that, went home, had something to eat, then watch Scotland "A" team hump the fuck out of Liechtenstein 2-0.Presumably it's acceptable to pay on the gate? Fuck I'm tempted to just leave work right now and go watch that.I have no bosses at work today - who would know?I could just tell everyone in my vacinity that I'm off to a meeting. In fact, I just missed an opportunity - I had to go and get some vaccines for going abroad with work next month - nobody had any clue where I'd gone for half an hour, and nobody would have cared. I could have just swung past Todders.

Guest Gladstone
I just found the line ups here Sky Sports Live Score Centre ? Football, Cricket, Rugby, Golf & F1 Coverage. to try and find out who number 11 is after some good touches in the first half.Noticed that James Forrest wasn't selected. Euan will be a tad disappointed...EDIT: Number 11 is Barry Bannan from Aston Villa. He did a magic back-heel pass up the line in the first half. Looks like the next Ronaldo to me.
