Guest Giles Walker
Raekwon (Feat. Nas) - Rich & BlackAs much as i enjoy this, i just cannot imagine it going off in a club. It's surely not the point of it i am sure, but i do yearn for something that is lyrically strong and bangs in the club. There was another Nas related thing dropped this week, anyone spot it? I can't remember the name of it now.

'Wrong Side Of Da Tracks' is one of my favourite NY rap tunes of all time and I play it out almost any time I'm DJing 90s hip hop...but it's nearly 20 fucking years old, and as far as I was aware they had split up. Are they working on new material then?

Are they working on new material then?Yeah, it does seem odd. I only became aware of them through this festival's advertising but It seems there's a bit of a nostalgia movement currently going on in Hip Hop over here so it's not entirely surprising that older acts are being brought to the fore. The Raekwon gig at the weekend was an eye-opener for this. Fans here HATE the hip hop of the moment. At one point he shouted out 'Who here likes the way hip hop is going?' and the acidic boos were incredible. Guest Giles Walker
Didn't know Chairman Mao was involved with the hip-hop scene.Yeah he just spins music from marxist rappers like Lupe Fiasco.I think this is the old editor of Ego Trip mag, rather than the communist leader of the people's republic of china.I could be wrong though... Soda Jerk
Shoot up your School by myblackass_ on SpotifyI made a massive jumble of a hip hop playlist, for all you Spotify yobs. It's like 6 hours long, and in no particular order. Just a mish mash of jams. Put it on shuffle and get rowdy.
