Soda Jerk
the match has turned out to be the title deciding spectacular we all wanted!Fuck what everyone wanted. United are going to get arseholed unless they play 4-5-1 and park the bus. With defending like today, City can quite easily stick it right up United on the day.Luckily Newcastle are standing in their way, and if they'd have had Papiss from August, the Manchester derby would be the battle for second place, and Newcastle would have won the league mathematically weeks ago. City will get ruined.

Moose
Fucking hell, your lad Jelavic has been knocking them in for fun since joining Everton. £5m very well spent.
Soda Jerk
Newcastle will win the Champions League next season! If they don't, it's a fix.Really hope they keep their squad together, and strengthen. Love how Jonas has turned from mostly-ineffective but hard working winger into a player who can play anywhere. He's been awesome at holding midfield, just bombing around, throwing his oddly stocky torso into the ribs of woofter midfielders. Boof. Total utility man, like an Argie John O'Shea. I don't know why. Maybe they wanted to pay more. Considering a ratio of quality to price, Liverpool probably should have paid about £80milion for him. That's the difficult bit though sustaining such a high league position.Actually nice to see a player come down from the SPL and score goals in the EPL for a change, Moyes made some shrewd signings and did his business well in the transfer window.Someone told me Swansea might be in the Europa League next season cos of that fair play award thingy which Fulham got this season. Scootray
Last I heard the EPL was something like 9th in the Fair Play table, so can't see it happening.
Soda Jerk
One or two of them may leave for more money elsewhere, regardless of Champions League, which is a shame. Despite slumping, Chelsea and Liverpool may be able to offer more money and players like that kind of thing. Then there's Arsenal, City and United who may stick their oar in. Newcastle may get CL football next season, but those 3 will be there constantly, at least for the next several years. Players may want that consistency. Hopefully everyone in the squad will be like Tiote, and genuinely not want to move anywhere else. He's a top bloke.
Paranoid Android
Newcastle have made some great good value signings lately, if they do lose some players hopefully they can keep that up and still be a force next year.
Woodsinho
Ched Evans is in the League 1 team of the year that was announced last night. Great bit of PR by the Football League there. Top lads.

Woodsinho
He needs to stay. If he goes there's a risk that they'll bring in someone competent and no one wants that.
Moose
As much as I hate Liverpool, you've got to wonder what people's take will be if they get the cup double this year....
Soda Jerk
I still think Dalglish has to go. He's done a lousy job. They are losing to poor teams on their own patch and they just can't score goals. The balance of the team is wrong. Dalglish has spent loads and loads of money on mediocre players who look like they've never played alongside each other before. The only good thing Dalglish has done is give Martin Kelly a run of games. He's a good player. If he wins two cups then that's alright, but I don't think any team puts half as much effort into cups as they do league position these days, and Liverpool could finish in the bottom half if they keep it up. Soda Jerk
This made me chuckle, then I errupted with laughter when I saw Ozil's face poking through at the back.OZIL!
Woodsinho
For teams that aren't expected to finish in the top 6 winning 2 cups and finishing 8th-12th would be seen as a great season but given the amount of money Liverpool have thrown at putting together the current squad there's no way it can be thought of as a success. Liverpool haven't finished lower than 8th in the league since they got promoted to Division 1 in 1961/62 and there's a very good chance that'll happen this year. Not so hot. He's still our best player, despite the ridiculous group of forwards/midfielders we have these days. One of the most reliable CBs in the league and a really tidy footballer. Paranoid Android
Winning two cups would have to be seen as success on one hand for Liverpool. However the Dalglish question surely depends on whether he is the man to move the team towards their long term goals, which the league campaign clearly suggests he is not. And if they do end up finishing 9th,10th or worse any cup success would be heavily tarnished.
Soda Jerk
To say they were close to winning the title in 2009, finishing mid table is a huge fall from grace. They had a team that boasted an in-form Torres, Gerrard who was still a top player, Xabi Alonso and Mascherano. I don't understand how they've gone from that to having Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and that mutant Jay Spearing.
