jester1470
OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO MUSIC Sir Bob GeldofSee, i'm a big Bob Geldof fan, but this kind of thing annoys me for a few reasons, this is not a contribution to music award but a live aid/band aid thing. ?This has been brought to light by band aid 20 which was actually started by Midge Ure not Bob who had little to do with it. Bob has done a few great songs but his contribution to music is less than that of his partner in live aid/band aid, Midge who has done a lot of great production work etc too.CheersStuart
psydoll
I forgot they'd done away with the Best Dance Award. Shite.
Rass
seems a bit odd that the nominees for best group and best rock act are almost identical yet they both go ahead. dunno..
psydoll
Yeah it's weird but a lot of categories seem to have the same 5 bands in them...
Skull Commander
I gave up on the brits ages ago. They are just a ploy to get the punters buying more music at a traditionaly quiet time of the year. The brit awards as far as I can remember have never had any merit to them apart from the many stupid presenters!

psydoll
The "Best British Single" nominees definitely mark a new low' date=' though.[/quote']It certainly does.So the Bedingfield duet is the big live collaboration that they usually have? framheim
yea that best song award is astonishingly shameful. will fucking young? up there with love will tear us apart? let's sit and reflect on that one shall we? and we are the champions? really? nothing against queen but surely there's better queen songs than we are the champions.i'll give them angels. fair enough i don't like it, and 90% of the people on this board probably don't like it but i guess it's a 'great' song. it's got that lyrical hook that taps into people in a way i guess love will tear us apart does for us, though obviously there is no real comparison as to which is the greatest. but jesus the rest are rank. qzdiablo
if i were to vote i'd vote for the notion of all those bands being stripped, smeared with blood and thrown into a room filled with broken glass and hungry tigers

delboy
the annual wank fest that is the brits is hardly even worth discussing nowadays, however will young being nominated for an award for best single of the last 25 years is worth debating, someone's having a laugh right? i mean i agree with dave officer, you can argue a case for robbie williams angels, that record has stood the test of time pish as it is. who the hell comes up with these lists? i would suggest simon cowell but if that was the case there's no way joy division would be in there. nice to see moz getting a nomination but there's no way he'll win! and who gives a flying shite anyway?
